You don't know what you are yapping about. A company doesn't have to prove absolutely anything whatsoever to DAC! If a driver files a dispute, DAC contacts the company. If the company disagrees with the driver, then DAC leaves the false info on their report. The company is DAC's paid subscriber, so the company is sided with by DAC 100% of the time. All DAC does for the driver is to place the driver's side of the story on the report. How much good do you think that this does for the driver? Secondly, the Fair Credit Act has no recourse for the wronged driver. Go look it up. There's no board or anything that can right your wrong. The only recourse a driver has is to contact Quaalcom. Quaalcom is a gps system that tracks every 5 feet of movement that a truck makes. If a company claims abandonment, for example, the Quaalcom will prove beyond a reasonable doubt where the truck was actually left by a driver. The Quaalcom company, by federal law, is required to keep your records on file for 6 yearts. Go to a lawyer and get your Quaalcom records.

Sorry , maybe I was wrong , but we are asked by the company to report damage to other trailers if we see it & I have done so in the past for them ! But this time since I quit & it was the last one I reported they stuck it on my report ! See I am not one of the idiot drivers that leaves a trailer with a flat or bad lights for the next driver to worry about ! That might be my down-fall , or maybe its just the way things are done in trucking today ! I know how upsetting it is to hook a trailer & find bad lights or a flat tire ! If your ideas is the same as you wrote , then I understand the type driver you are ! Thank you .

Don't feel bad, i kept finding trailer after trailer with bad lights, tires, etc, only to have Mike (the old guy in dispatch at gstc) jump down my throat and tell me to just fill the tires up and go down the road. He was a really good guy to work with until Tom took over the place, then he turned into a total #######. I told mary kay and the rest of the people there my total honest opinion of things changing for the worse there after they raised a fit over my leaving. It puzzles me how companies can change from being good driver- oriented places, then go to totally disrespectful toward the drivers after the owner's kids take over, then have the gall to place garbage on a driver's DAC after he or she gets fed up and leaves.

It is nice to know someone else has had the same thing happen to back-up what a guy writes here ! Mary Kay should NOT be in her position , as she is the one trashing the DAC's ! As for Mike (Mr.Groovy) he was OK , but should not have lied & agreed with Mary Kay . He needs to get his "Boys" back & stand on the trueth , not what is safest !!
As for TOM , he is the biggest IDIOT I have ever met trying to run a trucking company ! His policies are mostly very stupid ones & his ideals of a driver are totally dumb ! I am glad they put down "Non-rehirable" because I would hate to think I would ever have to stoop low enough to EVER go back there !! It may have once been a GOOD company the DAD ran it , but the KID is running it into the ground !! Thank you .

I have to agree with you,a company that i worked for did something like that, i hooked up to a trl. in our yard and every thing was fine on the pretrip, made a del. 80 miles down the road. pulled out of the dock at the customer and when i made a right turn pulling out of the dock, the light cord got caught on something and pulled the faceplate of the light receptical on the trl. off. was charged with a preventable and was put on my DAC, i fought it and the same thing, they would not take it off and stuck up for the company, I believe that DAC is in the back pockets of the trucking outfits as they are the ones paying the bills for DAC.

Tom really made some garbage decisions there...a lot of the drivers didn't like him too much even back when gordon ran the place. What really po'd me was when they got the new volvos, he put all kinds of restrictions on them, even to the point of setting the engine so that you couldn't idle between 25-75 degrees still not bad unless you had a freezable load, or the truck develops a problem with then batteries. Unfortunately, the only person tom listens to is tom, unless you included that new ops manager he put in there. There used to be another person working safety with mary kay, but i guess she worked too well with drivers, and that doesn't work well with Tom, he managed to drive out all the veteran people who made that company great except for mike and delaine, and i feel sorry for those two, especially since i think mike's personality shift is more from the incompetent way tom is running things. I wont even get into how horrible the shop is at fixing things on the trucks, that's another thing altogether.

I know this may sound like i'm trashing tom a lot, but i once had respect for him until he was handed the reigns of that company, and managed to destroy a good outfit with his overinflated ego.

Tom , what can we say , nothing !! Like my dad taught me "If you can not say anything nice , then say NOTHING" ! The guy that was in recruiting when I started was also let go , younger guy (Ryan) & replaced by a young lady . Not hard to figure that one out .
On the Volvo's , Tom has started making the drivers pay (non-refundable) for the cords to hook-up innverters ! Tom kept pushing me to take a Volvo even knowing I was not happy & had talked about quitting ! The only good thing about that Volvo was the shifting , smooth . You can only idle them now from 25 -- 85 degrees , 85 inside a DARK BLUE truck gets pretty dang HOT !!
We (my wife was a full time rider)were givin' a load out just south of Boston , we got there the night before & parked at a service plaza , only thing close ! Spent 12 hours there , then went in ONTIME & delivered , called in empty & was told nothing happening right now , find a place to park . So, we went back to the service plaza but on the southside this time . From arrival to departure we spent 70 hours in that parking lot , high priced food , NO coffee after 9pm . Then had to travel over 200 mile deadhead to a load !! Only got paid $50 , because we needed another 2 hours for the third $25 which is all they pay for lay-over pay ! GSTC might have been a good company at some point , but NOT any more !
MaryKay in Safety is the person that trashes a drivers DAC ! She does it without any concern as to anything a driver has done or not done ! Do not waste your time calling her ,because she is as cold hearted as they come !!!!
Guess my advice is : STAY AWAY from this company ! Thank you .

That was my big frustration....constantly sitting for hours, even DAYS between loads!! when i started there i would haul loads out of the south end of the warehouse, or other locations around iowa. Those loads, i made good money, always got home weekly, never once had to fight with dispatch, and when equipment problems came up, it got fixed. Walford became like my hometown away from home to the point i even planned to move there at one point. When i left again for the final time almost a year ago, they raised a pretty big stink but i held my ground, and had to have a meeting with mary kay and the new guy, herzburger i think. I told them, and even tom & mike themselves, that GSTC was no longer the good company i join 10 years ago. It had changed sharply for the worst, and mary kay would give a convoluted, bs answer. She knows NOTHING about driving a truck!! At least when Dave & Jennifer ran that department, and Mike,Joe, & Delaine ran things in dispatch(i still think mike needs to get out on that Harley more often and learn to chill out lol) , it was TOP NOTCH. Tom is one of those people that thinks he is 100% right about everything, and woe to anyone who disagrees with him. Back when they had the t2000's and Gordon himself was in charge, there was none of the micromanaging on the trucks like they do with those volvo's. I held hope that Gordon would take the place back and get rid of tom before more damage can be done, but i think he's washed his hands of it and told the kids that if they run it into the ground its their own fault.
