GTA local hourly rates are garbage

I didn't get the Martin Brower job, I have an interview for Sysco on Wednesday. I applied to westcan and Canada clean fuels as well. Let's see what this week has in store for me.

Dry van has no money in local, no point of even looking at it. $200 a day I can make more working at my old airport job.

 

The citidiots love it thankfully cause I dont want em up in the sticks.

 

Makes you appreciate the good ole USA all the more dont it.

 

I've been negging you all out over this for months, you lack representation in the economy, on top of that the industry is deregulated, which means that YOU are a mere pawn in the game governed by the forces of supply and demand. The pay rates suck because you have all become fragmented. The government along with corporations are united in effort against YOU! Get that through your thick skulls and maybe you'll GET IT, that without proper representation at all levels of government you will be pushed around and neglected, become disposable, and inevitability replaced by robots. Stupidity always loses, learn to fight for yourselves!

 

There’s really an oversupply of Class 1/A license holders, but yet a shortage of qualified/willing drivers at the same time.

You nailed it though (in your later post), if you want to earn more you’re going to have to get into the specialized segments of trucking.

One thing to note is, there may be more compensation than just the hourly rate at some of these places. Praxair being one of them. That’s the segment of trucking I play in and I can tell you their guys are doing alright.



Possible solution: have you considered running something smaller? Like a ready mix truck. They stick around the city and make decent coin. I will say, it is somewhat seasonal. (Reliant upon the construction industry).


Vacuum truck operator is another gig where you can do well. I ran one before I started trucking and made good money doing it. Overtime daily and double time some weeks. (Under certain situations).

Roll off truck. (Garbage disposal).

- These DZ gigs all have their pros and cons, of course. Just something to consider.

 

You know my friend does dump truck and makes $30 an hour. The problem with that is when it rains there is no work or if it's too cold outside. But I have looked into DZ ready mix concrete and it seems like good hourly pay with basically unlimited hours.

Need to get my foot in the door somewhere. Need a company to call home for a while.
