I havent dealt with it personally but I dont acknowledge people walking by and I roll up my windows. Only stayed at one Petro where I saw iffy people walking around, it was in Texas but cant remember where at the moment, I just closed my curtains and kept them closed. I also choose not to stop at truck stops often except for a shower, I stop at rest stops more often like right now I have been sitting at a really nice rest stop close to Littlerock, WA since yesterday avoiding the Loves I parked at yesterday morning that was way too busy and had a lot of weirdos hanging around.

Can you potty train snakes or do they poop anywhere?
-
no idea, go get a snake and tell me the outcome
-
I had Lot lizads knocking at rest areas also......

If it was venomous you wouldn't have it loose. And if you got in a crash and survived but got bit by the snake when his enclosure broke would you still be thinking it was such a good idea?
They don't scare me. I wrangled these 2 copperheads with a truck wash brush and some BBQ tongs.

Cracks me up...
You honestly think a snake sign etc, will stop a DOT cop from wanting to inspect you, get into your truck, and so on?
Yeah right.
I have always had one of my German Shepherds in my truck with me, and they go nuts when seeing anyone walking around the truck.
Get rid of scum like hookers, beggars, etc? Maybe, but not every time for sure.
Stop me from getting inspected? I seriously doubt it.
Cops/border patrol had me leash them and take them for a walk etc while they do their deal? Yep.
Here is a method that has worked better than any sign, for the last couple of decades of my driving time.
Keep your ride looking decent. Junk looking trucks are a ticket waiting to happen in my experience. Hell, I see some that I would pull over just to take a foto of at times, if I was a cop.
Dont give them an obvious reason to pull you over. Check lights, tires, etc every time you stop, and for sure at the beginning and end of your driving for the day. Never ceases to amaze me how many guys/gals just start it up and go in the morning, without even a glimpse of the tires etc.
Clean the windshield. That is a good indicator to DOT cops in scales etc that you haven't stopped in forever, a totally covered and grimy windshield.
There is a theme here I think. Most of the stuff that will help you NOT get DOT'd every day, is free!
MartinMrEd Thanks this. -
I'm gonna put snapping turtle signs on my truck.
leftlanetruckin and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Why not just tell the truth, with a "Lot Lizard Stuck Inside" sticker? Means the same thing......
