    I love the variety.

    I enjoy the lack of lumpers and the associated BS, including multi-hour wait times.

    I enjoy the intellectual challenge of "ok, how do I secure this load?"

    I enjoy the way we're treated better at *most* shippers and receivers.

    I enjoy the quasi comradery.

    Oh, yeah, and I enjoy that most loads are low profile and heavy. Not all, of course, but most, at least in the fleet I run in.

    I pulled two pieces of 30" pipe for 60 miles today. My cut was $471, wait time was $75 and fuel surcharge was $65. Wish I could have preloaded something else or brought something back but nope. No flat bed loads for me tomorrow either so i guess im going to try getting a container. Really sucks cause i am enjoying flattbedding. Once i really get the hang of it, and if there were more work I think I could make some decent money for a mostly local job. Hell, I cant wait to get an overnight load. I got the itch to leave town.
