Go to a shipper office and tell them you'll guarantee 100% acceptance at $1 per mile to haul their loads.Rideandrepair, Siinman and Robby132 Thank this.

But then I would lose money, so maybe I should rephrase the question. How can I sell directly to shippers and make more money also, where are shippers offices or how do you locate those?
-
Why would a shipper choose to work with you and pay more money than what they're already covering loads for?tscottme Thanks this.

have you heard of dedicated routes? I have seen those contracts and direct deposits…they are generally 30-60% more than what shows on DAT board. Come on man stop wasting time. No one pays $1 per mile unless you are talking about partial loads in which you need to be clear aboutRideandrepair and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
Around back, by the gate. Ask for SueCrude Truckin', Siinman, Last Call and 3 others Thank this.

One problem you'll have is being one truck. Shippers want their loads delivered and don't care if your entire company is in the shop.
Nucor wants at least 2 trucks.tscottme Thanks this. -
Once your company has been in business awhile you will most likely start using the same brokers and shippers on a routine basis. Provide good service and chat with the shippers and eventually sometimes you can get loads direct from them and sometimes can get brokered loads offered before they hit DAT board. This mostly works with smaller shippers and not large volume ones.
RockinChair and tscottme Thank this.
