75% of those shot with a handgun, ANY CALIBER, survive. Contrary to the "caliber wars" the doctors and nurses in the ER don't notice much difference.

Then that person failed their situational awareness skills. Most important thing, have your head up and on a swivel. Dont be looking down at your phone or ####ing off being distracted. Once you see someone approaching in the middle of the night you got your hand on your weapon ready to go. Or at least I do.

Agreed

In that case, could you fill the bottom of the magazine with unicorns or safe spaces and make it legal still? I’m just trying to pass along the savings to fellow gun enthusiasts.

I have this Taurus 709 Slim, Semi-Automatic, 9mm, 3" Barrel, 7+1 Rounds - 647206, Semi-Automatic at Sportsman's Guide for my home and personal truck use. Also very easy to conceal.
I also have a Ruger 9mm as well, but that one is way to heavy to carry effectively. I am looking at a Mossburg 590A1 for home use.
Also:
Eight states and the District of Columbia have enacted laws banning large capacity ammunition magazines: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. All of these jurisdictions except Colorado also ban assault weapons.Last edited: Dec 9, 2017
shogun Thanks this. -
I bought my wife a similar gun, the Ruger LCP 9 mm. Nice slim gun that holds 7+1 and conceals easily. Multiple safeties and perfect for a handbag,

In NY and NJ you will probably get off on the shooting (if it's a good shoot) and then still get charged with illegal possession of a firearm. And, in NJ, for possessing the ammo, if it is hollow point. NJ loves over-penetration, both in taxation and fired bullets.
NY also has an obligation to flee cooked into it's Justification statute (NYPL Art. 35). So, unless you have no reasonable out, or are in your domicile, you can't shoot. Unless you are defending another person.
So, yes you can go to jail for shooting someone in self defense. -
I'm wondering whether this forum might sticky a whole subforum on "Guns in the truck". It's only a topic that comes up every week. Either that or let the 5000th thread OP get a free fast draw holster.

I take things I find on the Interwebz with a grain of salt (maybe even with a shot of tequila!
) but this is a basic, but good read, if you have a couple of minutes.

That's something my armorer has gone over with me. I gave it some long and serious thought for months. I don't have a problem with taking a life to protect mine. Where I live 911 is for the coroner.
