I would never bring it with a trainer. I have more respect than that. Thanks for the info though. Any words of wisdom on what to expect when I’m training?

This was from another thread @The Tiny Bee

Sorry @The Tiny Bee. I now see where this poster said if you were “in possession ILLEGALLY”
My fault for not reading thoroughly. -
Capt I believe as long as you purchase a fire arm through the proper channel u can lawfully defend yourself. concealed carry is just that most places you can open carry. I have been trying to fig another defense device other than a gun, to carry in the truck.

Whether its law or not your company makes the call. Most have a policy against it.captjimmy Thanks this.

Now that I know Prime doesn’t allow firearms I doubt I will carry. I don’t want to jeopardize my career.Rickp Thanks this.

Not necessarily, yes and no. You can have a Arkansas CHL like i have and if I am caught with a weapon inside Maryland (Which honors NO one's licenses... except their own... for which you need to be a victim..) it's going to be prosecuted.
USCCA, United States Concealed Carry Association is the one National source of information for all things CC. Including what states honors which other states if any. Being a member and paying insurance to them provides a range of benefits to you should you be jailed and prosecuted among other things.
I am out of trucking medically, but I carry everywhere I go. Arkansas passed a law this year mandating that employers do not touch employees cars in which a gun may be stored. I follow a slightly different path, concealed is concealed. Truly hidden.
If I was in trucking I would be concealed carry, but only under a true National Carry. This current effort sitting in the senate is a deeply flawed bill and should fail. Employers rules regarding no weapons do not matter to me, the worst they can do is fire and that has no sting. There are a few that do have weapons and training to go with the 18 wheeler for specific things. But god help you if you misuse, abuse or deliberately hurt anyone with them without cause, you WILL go to prison.
To carry a weapon means nothing bad will happen today and I am very careful where I go, what I do and how I do it. And if something really bad does happen? Well, we will talk about all that should we survive it. Meaning burial arrangements and life insurance etc is paid up, living wills, medical directives and estate wills are made up. In case things really go bad. It brings a sort of peace and clarity should a bad guy threaten you and yours with none of the OMG what will my family do now if you are taken out and dying. Just because you are packing does not mean you get to survive a fight. You WILL however by good training learn to see one setting up and totally avoid a fight. This is not Dirty Harry out here.
You have to be very careful getting involved in carry. You can absolutely lose your life, hurt someone and or lose your freedom and all that you worked a life time for instantly should you make a mistake.roshea, Joetro, jammer910Z and 3 others Thank this. -
Dont forget about companies/shippers/receivers that do not allow firearms on their property. If you're caught with a gun in your truck on their property, you will be ordered to leave & could be arrested. I dont need to tell you that if you get caught on private property with a gun that doesnt allow it, you wont have a job within a few minutes.
There are federal sites like military sites, ports etc that you dont wanna try this with.
