How much was the fine?Let this be a lessoned learn, don't trust your GPS.you as a truck driver is suppose to trip plan.I'll just bet had you looked in the truckers atlas you would have seen that no truck route.Let's hope you're not going to be one of those trk drivers that hits a low bridge due to trusting your GPS.I would not waste time fighting this because you are guilty and chalk it up as a stupid mistake and won't do it again. We've all done stupid things thruout our career and learn from it.

somewhere on this forum,i was called a relic or similar, because i don't use a gps. I use my phone,my cb radio, and my paper trucker's atlas. I no longer, nor will I,run Kalifornia, and i have never gotten an out of route or "no trucks allowed" ticket.

What was i referenced as again?

best of luck to you OP as since it is Kalifornia, you will be paying something. get rid of the gps for a little while.learn to navigate, not unlike a relic such as myself would, without one.under your bunk is a great place for it for the next 6 months to one year.

Soon as you said "GPS" you lost any sympathy from me. I will say we all make mistakes and learn from it. Throw that GPS out the window and download Google Maps for your phone. Call the customer get directions and look over it from Google maps before heading over. Hasn't failed me yet

Yes, indeed it was your fault for proceeding AFTER you saw the sign.
I pull oversize stuff, and can't remember how many times I have stopped, put the 4 ways on, and called 911 due to routing, road closures, low bridges, etc. It happens.
Did I piss off the locals? No doubt. Did the cops come out and get me out of there safely without issuing a ticket? Every time.
Tough crowd or not, we aren't here to tell you you are perfect, that's Mommy's job.... Pay the ticket or turn up in court if it floats yer boat, and get on with making some money.

Stop relying on GPS's. They are no substitute for a road atlas.

you can be a relic all you want, we'll let you. but don't you dare say throw away the gps. cuz it's the ONLY tool i use. and it's a very rare occasion that it takes me to a place i don't belong. and the very few times that it has, have all been in commiefornia, usually with my delivery being on that very street that i need.

but, i also have eyes that work. to which apparently, most of you don't.

one of these days, i'm going to sit at the port when it's closed. and video ALL YOU TRUCKERS ROLLING THROUGH. :biggrin_2559:

can't wait for the day, you all realize, that the atlas really has no clue. mine is great for the highway system, but has absolutely no idea once i get to town.

I'm still wondering what is there to freak out about over a ticket. They can't eat you nor can they take your birthday away.

Any GPS is good on the highway system. Sometimes I'll use the GPS in my iPhone. But you ALWAYS need to cross-check the GPS with an atlas. Otherwise you'll end up in the OP's shoes.
