i worked for gypsum from 2008-2011 i ran out of baldwinsville ny i was in the doubles division flatbed. honestly good company but when i was there they switched tandem van dispacher with tandem flatbed dispatcher and are miles went from 2200- close to 800 so after a month it was enough. I even found myself getting home on saturday night and leaving sunday afternoon on many occassions so it was enough for me. no money and out for 6 days.but really i made really good money for long time and i would go back in a min if i could but i have kids that are still young at moment. they have small sleepers because mainly the flatbed division hauls lots of weight the sheetrock mainly generally 45-50,000 plus so they need the small sleepers for weight . but i really enjoyed my time with gypsum specially in flatbed lots of good guys there , they would help you out in a minute. i did hear as i was on my way out the door they were going to paperless logs though. jon white is a good guy he pays a ton of money into safety bonuses in jan every year and in summer he has a picnic for drivers along with free racing tickets for drivers and there families. so honestly if it wasnt for miles and times get real bad when i was there id still be there and would go back today in a minute. so my opinion they are not perfect but far better then most they have flaws like many companies but you can for sure make a good living there . and there trucks are mainly in good shape and just bought many new trucks.good guys in dispatch and shop except for the guy that was running it ray was a idiot . but all in all really good company in my opinion. anyone have any questions ask away .

I drive for gypsum out of the Savannah terminal. The company over all is real good to work for. They have ups and downs like everyone else but they have treated me good in the 2+ years I've been with them. They are buying lots of new trucks and maintain the equipment well. They do have smaller sleepers but the average drywall load I haul is usually 48,000-50,000. They are more a regional company and you don't stay out for weeks at a time unless you want to. I would recommend Gypsum to anyone wanting to do flatbed and doesn't mind putting forth the effort.

Corey, you mention that they maintain their trucks well; they also sell their used trucks, would you recommend purchasing used trucks from them?

The used trucks are ok, just a lot of miles on them. Gypsum seems to keep them until 800 thousand are on them. I got a 2012 cascadia, it seems the older ones are for loaners and going to the auction. I would buy one if the price is right
