    Alaska Highway, Jan13

No training, harsh climates. The lady in the team could not manage to pull forward because of poor planning before shut-down (re:rolling back and forth to make ruts) so she decided to back out onto the two lane highway. She overshot and buried the triaxles in the deep ditch.

In November, an H&R rolled unit by Bucking Horse, BC resulting in death for the teammate in the bunk.

So many times I have had issues with aggressive driving from H&R. One team who had quit where I am to go to H&R returned a month later. They had said it was much like indentured servitude and stopping was not allowed.

I am fascinated by this truck stop on-line. Just like the old days when you were trying to have your breakfast, only to be disrupted by all the whining. Trucking companies, people and life are what you make them. I pulled my last load for H and R in 2003. I kept my mouth shut and did my job. I made a decent wage and drove, very well, maintained equipment. If you're going to trash anything, at least, put your name on it. Safe driving and well being to all.

The company I lease with is pulling a lot of H&R loads now. I'm just back from my first run to Calgary for them. Their equipment seems OK. When I got up from my nap my dispatch had texted me 4 trailer numbers to grab from the Calgary yard (my choice). Of course none of the 4 was in the yard and after an hour of waiting I was told to bobtail to JSB in Brooks. No problems there at least, again the equipment was in good shape.

So far so good, we'll see if I get paid for the wait.

LOL That is kinda funny, H&R in plain and simple terms is a scam... Very easy to figure them out and what their doing and it's company's like this that give the trucking industry in whole a bad name... H&R makes more money from the ignorant (misinformed wise) immigrant driver or new canadian if your politically correct period... Make no mistake H&R dont give a rats ### about you or any driver they have, they are going to keep you in Calgay or close by to run you as a local driver and still pay you by the mile... Heres the math and procedure 40 cents a mile (woohoo) now your in Calgary day 1: 150 mile run to edmonton that you waited 5 hours to load and didnt get paid for because all their pickups are preloaded with 10 to 20 hours windows mostly so kiss that 25$ away now you drive the 3 hours to do the drop that could take 5 to 10 hours (sobeys) but you do get that 25$ so the hard part the math, 40 cents times 150 miles =60$ plus 25$ for unload is 95$ total for full days work theres a bargain huh... Ok doesnt end there day 2: repeat day 1 but add the 15 to 20 hour wait to get that load (advoid payover) ok now more math 1 day 90$ 1 day waiting 0$ and 1 day another 90$ soooo 3 days out is 180 bucks divide it now is 60$ a day you make????... The scam is why would they hire local drivers and pay them 250 to 300 bucks a day when their making longhaul drivers do them for 90 bucks and while H$ R is pocketing the 200 dollars per driver times almost 600 drivers is a hell of alot of money there scamming off the drivers instead of the customers like most companies do, the companies have the millons but their making more off the drivers and its easier to take advantage of them because if you speak up your out the door, recruit another 20 to 30 new drivers from different countries make them pay to get here to have H&R shaft them like the thousand before them and this repeats over and over and over there is no end so govern yourself accordingly......
