worked for them for 8 months.what a waste of my time. One of Canada's best managed companies???? It is the WORST managed company I have ever dealt with in 37 years as a professional driver. RUN from this company as fast as you can. If you are employed by them now,QUIT as soon as you can. There are NO WORSE companies out there so you have nothing to loose.

If you have 36 ( your info ) or 37 ( your post ) years of experience , why did you go there ?

Please excuse the typo Flatbed, I was typing fast and hit the 7 instead of the 6. The company I had been working for suddenly closed the doors and I was looking to make some money quickly. A former H&R driver recommended them so I gave them a try.He was from Europe and to him they may have seemed a good company. To me they weren't, and to most of the drivers i have spoken to since they still aren't. They convinced the government that there is a driver shortage so they can bring drivers in from England,Europe etc. There is not so much a driver shortage as a shortage of drivers that will work for H&R for very long. The immigrants that they sponsor are basically trapped there by the terms of the work visa so the only choice is to return home or endure the crap.

I read about their influx of overseas drivers.

I worked for h an r for about 6 years. I started out as a company driver then went to de a leesese driver.like any trucking mop any they will tell you what you need to hear but for the most part I had a good time.mind you I had no wife girlfriend or kids so for me I had no where to be so I got tucked in and went to work, and I did make a ####load of money.

They wouldn't let me work. They had me sitting after every delivery and telling me it would be better if I did a reset, even when there were lots of hrs left in my book.At times there were 10 to 12 trucks sitting in the Brampton or Delta yard. The mgmnt is more concerned with appearing to comply with the DOT than to run the company efficiently and intelligently. The management's policies are about 10 years behind where the rest of the industry is.Bad management plus bad dispatch equal bad news for drivers.Anyone with any self respect would not take their BS for very long.WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED FOR

I drove for H.R for 2 years best 2 years I had left 18 months ago to return to uk family reasons but will be returning in september .
With H.R if you are prepare to do the work they will give you the work but so many europeans just moan & groan and think it just a sight seeing trip no wonder H.R gets upset with them .
I listen to drivers they all knew what the job entailed . I was earning very good money got on with my dispatcher great if you deliver on time[ YOU WILL GET THE WORK ] Nether did I have problems with break downs it was always sorted asap .
Great job will be back :biggrin_2559:

Harry, may I suggest you try another company when you return from UK. If H&R was the only company you worked for, then you cannot make an informed decision as to whether they are the best company available to you.You may be surprised to find what a really good company can offer.
