Had a road side DOT inspection today BEWARE

    I came out of semi retirement and back driving local and OTR for a company. Was going East on Hwy 29 in Wisconsin going to Green Bay and was scratching and rubbing my right ear lobe and there is a DOT cop sitting on a onramp and saw my right hand by my ear, came after me and did a Level 3 on me, asked me if I has talking on a cell phone and he admitted that he did not see one and I told him the truth that I was not, he said that because of that he had to check it out and do a Level 3 which I got a clean inspection, we have elogs and this 'ol timer had his first elog inspection, learned a lot from him as to what is coming down the pike for elogs. So to all you old timers that want to dig those taters out a yer ears beware, and to rest of the drivers watch out LOL.......

    nice on getting that clean inspection...because majority of the trucks out on the roads barely pass lvl 1 inspections

    lever 1 is a full blown inspection. level 3 is just the basics. lights and logs.

    congrats on the passing. next time be aware of your surroundings before you pick the garden. :biggrin_25525:

    I got stopped and the officer asked if I was texting. I said hell no, I'm not stupid, that's illegal, I was facebooking.

    I was talking to a friend of mine who sells cars for Dave Smith out in Kellogg, ID. He was a cop up there for years. We were talking about just this. He said in the state of Idaho, it is illegal to text while driving. The law says nothing about watching a video, playing a game and yes, Facebooking. That is the total truth. He couldn't believe it was legal to do all that.

    Also be aware that the TX CMV police have been working a lot lately on the loop going around Athens, TX (TX hwy 31) doing random inspections in the center strip, particularly between about 9:00 and 14:00.

    and it's not a loop but hwy 290 east @ hwy 95 south in a little town called Elgin Texas. same thing full level ones in the center strip. know this cause i live here and see it all the time. (about 35 miles east of Austin. 290 is pretty good road to run between houston and austin.)

    That is the funniest stuff I read all day. Course in the quaint little village of elgin arkansas population 2 liquor stores a beer joint and a methodist church aint much to do when the rockhaulers git rained out.
