Ive seen it several feet deep out west after a cored storm got through with it.

I once was on I-70 westbound I think past St Charles. Up and down hills straight along all out at 72 loaded.

Came over one in the rain, it switched to ice and I am confronted with a foot packed of hail on the entire interstate and now wet on top. For about a mile with drops enough to roll a semi on the right.

My boss Ronnie will never hear of this one first hand from me. But we made it across that mile without losing it all. Straight wet pure ice slippery. It validated the front end alingment done recently prior to that trip. It was straight as it needed to be when I took off all power, touched nothing but thought good things and straight. Ignored the speed result as it fell and made it across on interlock at 22. (Not really supposed to engage, you can tear it right out. But since it was so slippery it was not a problem.)

Preventable? I guess so. I constantly pound the table about hail = tornado round about.

It's not often I got scared. But that would be one of the situations when it presented itself, I knew I was a dead man. But how do we figure this out? Think quick.

I've put on safety glasses during heavy hail storms.
