Aside from Craigslist, the only place I've dealt with is Associated Radio out of Overland Park, KS. They're good to do business with, although I've only bought new items thru them and not used. They're about 2 miles north of the I-435 and Metcalf Rd exit. They do sell online at http://www.associatedradio.com/home.php
I see you're in Ohio, looks like you have a few ham radio stores there. AES, R&L and UAR though I don't know if they sell pre-owned....here's a ham radio sales directory...http://www.artscipub.com/dealers/
ham radio?

Try your local hamfest....kind of a ham swap meet. Check with your nearest club to find out the dates.... usually can get testing done as well not to forget the being round folks who talk the same lingo.
Markcrb Thanks this. -
Ham stores are like gun shops; they do a brisk business with people trading in for this year's new rig. Ham Radio Outlet (www.hamradio.com) is pretty good for carrying used gear. Amateur Electronic Supply (AES) (www.aesham.com) also carries some used gear. The used list at Universal Radio (www.universal-radio.com) is also quite good.
Doing a bit of poking around, I ran across the Icom IC-V80. It's been getting pretty good reviews. The Sport version (runs on AA batteries) is about $100. It's 2m only, which will likely be 90%+ of EMCOMM work.
After doing a bit more poking, it seems all 4 of the major vendors have 2m radios selling in the $100-$150 range.
As for mobiles, most have a 2m-only rig $150-$200, and a basic 2m/440 rig around $300.crb Thanks this. -
Join a local ham club and ask around. People always have something for sale. One of my fellow members here had a pristine pair of Heathkit twins for sale a few months ago.
