Agreed. The antenna is what makes or breaks ANY CB radio.
Crappy CB antenna = lousy range
Although I will ask this....does the handheld give you the option to swap the antenna out? Maybe there's an "upgrade" antenna you could buy?

Was running blades from Little Rock,AR to Clumet,OK. We stopped at the Firelake Casino in Shawnee for the weekend. My 2nd driver jumps out of his truck and goes to his front pilot car.
Driver: Do you have a CB radio?
Front car holds up a handheld.
Driver: That's not working. The rear car and I cannot hear you. You need to buy a real radio.
Front Car: They didnt tell me that in pilot car school.
Driver: I'm telling you now. Dont come back without a real radio.
Front Car: Where do I get one from?
Six: Any truckstop. WalMart sells Cobra 19's for $40. That and a magnetic mount antenna will work worlds better than that handheld at less money.
Front Car: Commercial vehicle road atlas, GPS, and now a CB...they didnt tell me all of this at pilot car school. -
Please tell me what this all about because I never heard this before. -
Some of the factory radios in the truck come set up sirius capable. There will be a series of buttons to push that will tell you the sirius radio serial number. You take that number to the sirius website and enter that number and boom. You have sirius in the truck.
whoever said the bearcat 880 is junk, I like mine. Just as good as a cobra 29.
