What is hands free? One of the reasons the rule was made was because dialing and answering a phone is distracting. A headset is only going to keep you from holding the phone.
The only true hands free is one with voice commands.

A hands free (headset) can keep you from having to push a button on the phone to answer. Many phones also allow the headset to deliver voice commands to dial pre-programmed numbers.

All headsets do voice command, the question is does your phone?

I'm too old fashioned, still can't get used to these guys walking around talking to a head set thingy in their ear, or even having it in their ear when not talking. Ca. implemented hands free cell usage a year ago while driving. Also, no texting.

I'm not sure what deleting the history will do if it doesn't show you were or weren't hands-free in the first place. If a cop sees me flapping my gums and wants to write me a ticket I think he will do so whether he can see the history or not. Assuming I was on a call phone records will show that. And at this point the phone records are all I have to show in court.
I would like to be able to show LEO I was hands-free by some indication on the call log. --Hopefully saving me from having to go to court in the first place.
The company gives me a dumb phone to use. If I can find an app for my android phone that shows bluetooth use I would just use my phone all the time in an attempt to protect myself.
I'll have to look for an app... -
Or you look the guy handing you your order at the McDonalds drive through.
