My chains are there for decoration and to entertain DOT officers.

A subject near and dear to my heart (I ran Donner in winter a lot). I didn't have the tool this guy is promoting, but you can see the chaining process.
Without a tool like that, you can just drape the chains and roll forward.

Tut I used to haul compressors that weighed between 200 and 225K on a 15 axle leveldeck trailer. Anymore I'm usually grossing 200 on my 11 axle trailer heavy is heavy though and that sig came frome pulling 200K gross up indian canyon in utah and having a newb hauling 8000 lbs in his box b***h all the way to the top about how slow I was going kinda just pizzed me off.

Well, maybe that newbie should have left five minutes earlier than he did. Then he would have been in front of you and could have thrown you a tow rope to help out.

    Oops...I mean...find something else to b**** about. What was I thinking? Help?:biggrin_25521:

LMAO I like the way you think injun. My pilot cars pretty much told him the same thing. He kept wanting me to stop and let him around but at 200K on an 8 percent going up you don't stop until the top.

Got it. i think anyone, newb or otherwise, would look at what you have on your vehicle and realize why you might be crawling.... Anyway, thanx for the 'splaination and hope the best for you and yours. {:-{)>

Mine are too on my otr truck I do way too much chaining on my winch truck moving drilling rigs to do it on the highway. The most times I have chained and unchained is 15 in one day, 5 nasty sloppy miles into the rig get a load fight it out unchain run 14 miles of dry pavement and do it all over ahgain for 5 miles to unload did 7 loads that day and those were 4 sets of heavy triple rails a set of singles on the front axle of my tri drive and a steer chain.

I used to get that question on my 105,500lbs rig. I told 'em to count my axles.....

That 200,000 load sounds wicked. :biggrin_25514::biggrin_25514:I'd love to do one just to put under my belt.

Injun what gives with the brown Swift trucks? I've been seeing quite a few of them.

This is what mine look like, this is an old pic as I was only carrying 2 sets at the time:

I've found, if your using a hanger like mine and singles, take one chain, either end, cam side down, put the endo fthe chain on the jhook nearest the frame, the adjust it so it's far off the ground. Then go every third section on a hanger until you have them hung.

I carry 3 sets of singles plus a spare.
