Sorry for not updating guys, but I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. I've been with a trainer for the last couple of weeks, but should be getting a truck sometime this week. Training has definitely not been easy, but its starting to come together. My biggest problem has been figuring out where each unit goes. In BHM we haul alot of big stuff, so it can be very confusing and trying to say the least. Having a trainer who is always wide ### open and doesn't want to slow down to let me think about things doesn't help any. All in all things are going good, and i think I will be better off when I get on my own so that I can work at my own pace. There's definitely a learning curve with auto transport.

That's why some of these trainers should be put on salary while they're training new drivers so there's no rush when it comes to training a new driver and they don't lose any money and you're not running behind him trying to keep up and learn at the same time

I've been in training 2 days now did some backing and trying to follow a line onto the trailer. I think I'm catching on but I know it's going to take a little time. I wanted a quick load trailer but I'm going to be stuck with a high rail.

yea almost everyone starts off in a high rail ... so much demand on the quick loaders ... people with seniority probably grab those up as soon as one comes available

The type of trailer you get depends alot on which terminal you run out of. Most railheads will have quick loaders and some of the plants run highrails. Just depends on the size cars and how far they run out.
