    Hello

I am new driver, so I don't have 2 years of experience as required by this company. What do you think they might still consider me. Also on their website I could not find pay amount and what is it on an average.

I work as company driver and I drive coast to coast, if business is good I make round trip in 11-12 days without upsetting log books, so I make 2 round trips a month and I make approximately $7000 a month, but these days business is down and I waited in San Francisco 4 days to get loaded, so this last trip I needed 16 days to complete it, so monthly payment will not be more than $5500 this time. also I am driving 7 car hauler, not 9. Which is very low. I have friend who has fedex account and he begs me to drive his dry van and offers me 50 cents per mile even though he knows I am new driver, but I want to stay in car hauling because of many reasons and final goal is to become owner operator or even incorporate company. But what I see now, rates are down and driver payment is very low.

so what do you make on an average working for adkins?

It just depends on how hard you want to run and what terminal you are at. You can't make a 1,000.00 to 2,500.00 a week as a company driver. It all depends on what type of cars you're hauling

Well, I see there is different pay structure here.

With my current company I make 25% of gross. this is my before taxes money. I don't have any other benefit with this company. For example this trip I drove 6500 miles and my pay was $3300. I completed this trip in 16 days and I was not doing anything for 4 days in San Francisco as I waited loads. For single guy who does not have family they might think that these 4 days were off days and they can do something else or just have fun so for them $3300 was made in 12 days not in 16. For me those days are still working days. So I made $3300 and I was away from home for 16 days (4 days was not doing anything).

Is there different pay structure in adkins? If I am away from home 25 days a month, how much I can make?

You will never be on the road for more than 2-3 days at H-A & your be in a hotel at night I'm leaving UPSF to come here because I know my earning potential in car hauling is not limited . I've been on both sides of the fence as an owner op with brown trucking !

You're home on weekends here 80% of the time and it's 23 24 and 25% starting off new. It just depends on what terminal your at. If you haul Honda,Ford,Mercedes, and BMW you can make 1,800.00 week easy from what people say and more and go home for the weekend. Nissan kia misshibishi or however you spell that you'll make a 1,000.00 to 1,500.00 a week and be home on weekends. You probably could stay out long as you want tho it's no force dispatch what I was told. I'm in training now so you pick where you want to go. Now it will be days where you will have to take a load you don't wont but most of the time you pick it

I met guy in SF who hauled as owner operator of the 9 car stinger and he told me he takes home $5000 a week before taxes money. he told me what was his gross and that he paid 20% to dispatcher, but dispatcher always kept him busy. He mostly hauled cars from auctions to dealers. I was impressed his style too and that California is so easy to drive, no snow and no low bridges
