He has worked for several companies in the past that treated wives like we were second class citizens. And sometimes like we were not even human.
I don't expect to be good friends with the boss, but a little respect and common courtesy goes a long ways. Strangely, it is difficult to get even that.
Now, he works for a company who's people not only treat us with your normal common courtesy, but the Boss goes out of his way to be helpful. He got mad at me once for checking my own oil on his yard, and not for the reasons you would expect... He informed that we ladies do enough on our own, and if we were on his yard and needed something on the car checked, there was a shop full of mechanics who could do it for us.
When the Nissan broke down on me, he was going to sent mechanics out to get me, until he found out that I had a tow truck on the way.
If he would raise his pay rates just a bit, this company would be perfect.
Even the dispatcher who can't seem to dispatch enough loaded miles is very concerned about what problems and issues the Ladies at home may face. If I call and ask him if he has heard form my hubby, I not only get a yes or no answer, I get a full itinerary, AND he will hunt up my husband himself!
GasHauler, that sounds exactly like something this company owner would do.
Happy Employees
