Happy Father Day

While I don't particularly miss my dad, I can say, without reservation, being a dad myself was the greatest thing I did with my life. Thanks, kids, without them, Fathers Day would be meaningless.

I had a great Dad ......my Mom once told me when I was bragging about him to a new potential friend a few years after he died,
"You know vett ,your Dad may not be your Dad. ....I told her, if that is the case , then he is even a better Dad than I thought, and he was the best.
It wasn't just that he was a good Dad.....he was a great human, he did not pass a vehicle broken down , he pulled over and helped them, if that couldn't be done , he was giving them a ride to a phone or where they could get help. He didn't pass by a hitch hiker either, he stopped and picked him up, as they were getting out of the car he would put a couple bills in his shirt pocket.
He was forever bringing home what I called strays, feeding them and letting them stay, from this place called church...( not religious ) some kind of ...well like a church.
At the market.....I would get upset because he would let everyone go ahead of us.....but he was no sucker or easy touch....a guy at a cash register tried to short change him.....my Dad let him know ...you have made a big mistake , and I am not talking money, but if you don't make the money right, you will find out the mistake you made.
And if the kids saw my Dad at the ice cream Truck ?.........The kids from all the houses came running. They knew my Dad was going to make sure they got an ice cream.
He had something good inside him ,........I just realized.....like so many of you!!! I see the same goodness in you Drivers. wow....even if I am old enough to be your mom or grandma ....I see that good streak ......and I recognized it. Thank You for all you do. And like my Dad , you will never really know how good you are!! So just believe me. Love to all HAPPY FATHERS DAY EVERYDAY.
