    Nobody wants the liability anymore....

    Example....
A driver is backing in a hole and is being directed by another driver....
The backing driver is trusting the judgment of the "ground-guide".....
"Ground-guide" doesn't see the OD portion of a load on the the blind-side, and the backing driver rams it.......

    Now who is to blame?

Or the "ground-guide" gives great directions but the backing driver is a moron and doesn't follow directions that well....and still slams into a trailer....

    Who is to blame?

The driver is responsible in either case. I personally dont give a hoot about all that legal liability garbage. That is partly why things suck out there anymore. We cant do anything without facing some sort of persecution. I say #### it.

That's why people are even afraid to perform CPR in Kommifornia....
Even if you certified to perform CPR, if the someone dies.....the family can come back and sue you in court.....The "Good Samaritan" law doesn't apply with the trial lawyers....in Kommifornia....

Wouldn't hear a word about it in the Gay Bay....prosecutor is accusing the "good Samaritan" of doing something that wasn't authorized in the code...so Johnny Happy Guy, the defendant, jumps up and puts a full French style lip lock on the straight prosecutor...

    Talk about poetic justice!:biggrin_25523:

We get pushed around like that because we let it happen. If i see a driver who needs help, im gonna get off my butt and help him. If he messes something up in the process, he better be man(or woman) enough to accept the consequences. Stop being the truck driver that sits there with a bag of popcorn watching and waiting for Swift to mess something up. God knows youve been there before. If we work together out there on the road, we wont have to worry about ridiculous lawsuits. Things wont even go that far. Americans stood together and fought a revolution, but now days we cant even band together and help each other out without fear of something. Grow some nuts, stick out your chest out, and do what real men used to do. It's that simple.

Thats exactly the attitude that screws us. It's not about agreeing with another driver. It's about doing something to better ourselves and our professional environment. Why is this simple concept so difficult to understand? Stop being selfish and start being selfless. Everybody benefits. Greenhorns learn how to be better at their jobs, the old hands get to pass something on to help out another driver. What truck driver doesnt want to help out another truck driver who needs it? Everyone says they want the industry to be better, so make it better. It doesnt start with the carriers, shippers, truck stops, economy, or whatever else. It starts with the truck drivers. We start changing and the industry will change. It only takes some simple positive action by you the individual. Instead of sayin okay lets give it a go, I get the same exact answer every time. "Good luck getting two drivers to agree to one thing". Give me a break. Were all adults here.

I know better...I agree with WCP...no questions, no quarter...actually no change at all!

In the past month, and i have had a good bit of down time, (luckily at home)...anyway, I try to help when a driver is having troubles...especially from the drivers in the "drivers mill" trucks. But out of the last 8 times I have offered help, only two showed any sign of appreciation that I came to help. The others got up in my face, told me where to put it, I think "shove" was the correct word...and then proceeded to tell me they knew what they were doing and that I should mind my own business. But actually not so politely....so you folks from Swift, England, CRST, Watkins/Shepherd, and anyone else having problems out there...IT AINT COMIN FROM ME, NOT NO MORE....unless you are really cute and snuggly looking...and female of course...but don't go playing on my emotions 'cause I am married and she can beat me up, 'cause she is younger and she does a lot of yard work that I don't do when I am home!:biggrin_25524:

I'm new to the board but been out here for forty years and I have to say you younger drivers really surprise me with your common sense and logic, I only hope that half the new drivers practice what you guys are doing. There's never been angthing wrong with getting out and looking. When I started driving only about half were drivers, the other half fell by the way over the years, as will your generation, keep up the good work and continue to help your fellow driver regardless of his age.
