    Yeah I'm familiar it's been fixed.(epa system)

    like 700k+ miles now right?

Biggest issue has been those cups right?.. the place doing them clearly has no idea what they're doing with that many botched installs... That's a whole issue in itself

Unless you're getting all these repairs made for free + parts + and having your constant downtime paid....

Have you spent repair$ + lost (downtime) more than 15k in the last 6 months? Usually that only takes 1-2 week down plus the repairs.

This market is the exact time you need a reliable truck with low maintenance costs and highest fuel mpg. Keep the profit reliable and with better margins..

Guaranteed with all the downtime losses and expenses it's gotta be horrible average costs so far this year.

How much have you dumped in repairs the last 6-12 mo? How many weeks down of revenue lost?
Hopefully truck is at least paid off

Anything that is unreliable for customers+ more expensive to operate + constant downtime.. puts you at risk for failure amongst those who were on the risk of losing their businesses as well.

If old trucks were the profitable business strategy all the swingdick megas would have bought them all up.

Right now. It hardstarts only if it has been shut off for less than 10hrs. More than 10hrs it fires up just fine. As for being in the shop this year, water pump replaced was about it. Rochester had me in and out within 2hrs for that job. Brake shoes and drums too. I do that myself and I am got the drums for $70 a piece and shoe kit was $45. Yeah the truck is paid off. It is averaging between 6.5-7.3mpg. I haul heavy in hilly terrain.

As for other issues. There are none. The cab and chassis has been trouble free. No electrical issues. Zero leaks. Replacing brakes and slack adjusters was the only thing I have been worried about until the hardstarting began last week. Maybe it is the check valve.

So reality is the truck has been very good then you're saying ??

Sounded like it was a shop queen from the posts

  8. now they just had a really really bad run on Volvo injectors it also affected Macks too...
lot of time so if you get the injector cups replaced they also seem to help along with the injectors I'm on my second set. the first set lasted 80,000 miles once it was changed out at a hundred and eighty thousand miles..these last ones they put new injector cups in so we'll see how long it's going to go for.
yep she usually a warm start when it'll do it up to mine would be up to 5 hours like if I filled up the truck took a dump came out about 42 minutes later it would crank over three or four times about 15 seconds at a crack before it ignited again... when it was cold she fire right up like a dream.. Acted like was almost similar to a good old-fashioned Chrysler vapor lock for those you kids that remember carbureted cars.. I had a Carter AFB that love the vapor lock on an old 71 coronet

Mack procurement Hagerstown MD has had a lot of issues getting parts... maybe they tried to go the cheap route like they did years ago with the camshafts that bit them in the butt... again lol

If you cant afford a new truck when the market is in the ditch then you can NEVER afford a new truck... If you buy a new truck when rates are high, then the rates crash... What then?

If I stay trucking. I am saving up for a 379 glider with a series 60 detriot. I don't want another new truck. Fyi rates have crashed. I worked very hard to pay this truck off. I want to relax a little before having to go through that crap all over again. I don't love this job like I used to. Hate it actually. Do it now simply because I have invested alot into it and am very good at it. Tbh I want to go home everyday and crap on my own toilet.
