I worked all over the place on the C-12's, Germany, Japan, Morocco. I know the mods you are doing, in the early days the Army bought a bunch of airplanes that didn't have the center wing tanks, we did a bunch of mods to install more on those airplanes and do some re-engine stuff.
Get all of that overseas money you can, it's expensive here. The local 100 hour jobs and the annual here and there is only going to keep you busy... very little money there.
Im looking forward to getting on the road, but Im more interested in long haul, at least for a few years. Then I'll see.
Best of luck Dennis,
Take care,
Mark
Has any one done this ???

There is almost and insurmountable amount of knowledge to learn in this industry before one should even consider buying a truck .
My advice , take that money , invest it in an IRA , go get trained , and be a company driver for at least 2 years before even considering buying a truck, leasing a truck, or whatever .......you also need to realize something about this forums and people in general......people who are upset , tell their negative and scary stories ...on average.....to six people.....or in the forums case to ad many who read it.
Happy people tell their happy story to an average of 2 people .......less in this business if you ask me , because it's easier to sit around and moan with a bunch of other moaners , than getting up and doing something to make yourself more successful .........so take everything with a grain of salt so to speak , and realize there are plenty of positive stories out there as well , you just won't here them unless you ask -
Thanks beardedsinner, good stuff there. Im looking at driving schools in Northern California right now, trying to figure out where to go, then, no lease or purchase for this guy until at least a year or so down the road. I've been going through lots of threads and hours of youtube vids that are pretty telling. Yeah, it's not easy, but then nothing worthwhile usually is. I've always been a self starter, get it done kind of guy, so... no worries there.
If any one has any experience on driving schools in NorCal, it would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.beardedsinner and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
