I’m certainly not saying my 800+ mile day can be done every day. Everything just clicked. Started at noon. Shut down at 4 am. Just within my 16 hour window. Did I massage my book? Yup. But for all intents and purposes, totally legal. My truck is wide open, but I never drive over105 unless passing someone. And stay very close to 100 on two lanes. Like I said, it all just clicked that day.

In Ontario the MTO has a limit of 90 kph, not talking speed limit. for this conversation. If you log faster than 90 that is a violation. Highland used to have a permit to average 100 kph.
Awhile ago the mto was grabbing guys at putnam for the time it took from the border. The mto and dot have a computer program they go by and if you are outside of the program then ?'s are asked.
IF you get audited at the office or roadside. they will chastise you for that.

LOL guilty or not guilty is the question. There are no grey area's.
And like I said I don't care what you actually do but make it ''look'' legal.:):D

Really?? So the speed limit from sarnia to Putnam is 100kmh. You’re telling me you can’t set the cruise at 105 and avg 100 at say 1230am?? With the advent of elogs, MTO and dot will have to change their thinking. It’s all right there on the elog. How fast you were driving at any given time etc etc. I’d fight that ticket all day every day in court. And win.

    tinytim Thanks this.

    Exactly.

ON what premise would you win?
And even if you did .What did you ''win''.

So I cross bluewater with a time stamped toll receipt.

I run 105, legally, from Sarnia to London where the limit is now 110. And then 100 the rest of the way to putnam. My eld accurately records the movement of the truck.

Not sure what questions they would ask but the answers would be obvious.

Can you cite a source for this maximum 90 nonsense?

Then you would probably be ''legal''. in that case but if you run 105 all the way from windsor then no. Do you pay a toll going to can at Sarnia?

Not right off hand only the 2 times I got audited and used to ''log'' a 100kph.
And like I said Highland used to carry a permit to average 100kph light automotive freight and a process to go through.

    There's no probably about it.

Yes, you pay a toll to cross the bluewater bridge.

So highland has an official piece of paper, a 'permit' from the mto to average a specific speed? Sound like bs to me.

    meh

There's a toll going to Can from the US now?
The fact that I got grabbed for averaging 100 kph on a log twice is not BS but was a while ago.

You can ''think'' whatever you want. It's a free country.
It's what the computer program says you can do. not what you think you can do.
Highland is part of Titanium now.

Yes, always has been as far as I know. For the last dozen years for sure.

Never said it was. I call bs on highland having an official document from the MTO stating they can log a specific speed.

    Another one eh.

Well truth be known I never actually saw 1 but I will ask on Retro trucking when I get a chance.
Sometime we will have to discuss how the 13 hr drive time came to be.
