I have a few questions:
Just sold my home and headed to GA in 2 weeks
do you only need to take your hazmat over? All written test? Will Georgia just take my license and give me a Georgia one? Help me plz
thanks in advance
Has anyone transferred their cdl from CA to GA????

I transferred my CDL from AL to GA. I could tell you about that if you wanted to know.superpet39 Thanks this.

My rough understanding because CA is so strict, things could be different , but did yours change over? -
For what it’s worth, when I moved from Missouri to Kansas I had to re fingerprint and retake my hazmat, even tho I had over a year and a 1/2 left before it expired. The nice ole gal at the DMV said anytime there is a address change across state lines this has to be done. Who knows if that’s even right, or if it’s just a Kansas thing. I just let mine drop because I didn’t need it anymore.

When I transferred my CDL from AL to GA, all I had to do was pay a small fee and take the hazmat test again. That's all.
I don't remember exactly how much the fee was, but I estimate the fee was around $20.tscottme, Chinatown and superpet39 Thank this. -

To what part of GA are you moving, may I ask?
Also--are you still going to be working for Linde/Praxair?
If not--who's the next lucky employer?

Why are you asking here, instead of the GA DMV?
If you want the correct answers you go to the source - not the peanut gallery. -
