Its your truck. Do what you think you need to do. I keep mine polished for my reasons.

I'm dedicated and I don't take the truck home, it stays at the plant. I used to keep my 2013 truck polished when I was able to take it home. Now, I just don't have the time to polish it. Plus, I'm just too tired at the end of my 16 hour day.

Rookie here. What do you all use to clean/polish your trucks? I haven't had a chance to get mine into a Blue Beacon and have taken to wiping down the sides and hood with the cheap Pilot window cleaner while fueling.

I use my Pilot points to purchase polish and rags. It doesn't cost me anything. They sell Bush polish. The better one is blue colored and comes in a plastic jar. Follow the directions on the container. Its not auto paint polish, don't apply it like that. Its easy to do. It'll last a long time if you don't let the Blue Beacon put brightener on your truck. I'm VERY particular about my truck. Inside and out.

I like to use Wizards paint sealant polish. It is the best polish money can buy. I believe Groits is the same polish, but costs twice as much. Wizards is easy on & easy off. I also used 3M Finese-it final glaze to clean any imperfections in the paint, This product is used by every body shop and paint manufacterer period and works great for cleaning the paint surface.

I keep the inside clean, the windows clean and the outside gets a bath when it rains and once a month at the blue beacon.

I will go to the Blue Beacon once in a while if I'm routed that way off the I-280 in Perrysburg. I don't like going out of route, so the rain works best for me. Plus we are too busy.

I even pay for my own truck wash at times. If you let Maverick pay for the trailer, the cost is a lot cheaper.

Just curious, since you're in the glass division do you still get the same pay even when you haul something that's considered flatbed material? I figured you probably got your usual rate but was just curious. I'm considering Maverick. I'm in school atm and the recruiter came by a couple of days ago to speak with us and so far Maverick has been the company that I am most interested in, particularly the glass division. Really appreciate your thread too. Lots of good info here. Kind of worried how it's going to be being away from my family so long but I realize that's just the way it is in this business. Hopefully I can manage it ok.

Yes you get the same cents per mile even of you are hauling regular flatbed loads. The only reason your cpm would change is if your filling in on a dedicated account. Then you are paid like however the dedicated account is.
