Hey Blind Dog, If you say your truck does 68mph, MAVK will check your truck and if you get pulled into the Canadian Inspection station and the MOT plugs into your truck and finds out your truck does 68mph you'll be in trouble. Also this is to ALL you guys going into Canada, If you have anything bungeed to the catwalk like 4x4 boards or tarps and MOT sees it you will get an OOS and MAVK will give you safety points plus put you on probation.

No, Madison slowed my truck down to 64mph, like I had stated earlier. As for the cat walk, there is nothing on mine. I keep mine clean because I don't wanna kick or trip over things.
As for bungies, they ARE NOT a securement!

Hey Blind Dog, thanks for posting your trials and tribulations with the glass division since you started. I know it is greatly appreciated by many. I live just outside of the flatbed hiring area so the glass division was my only option with Maverick. I have read almost everything you and others have posted and it really helps in giving a new guy a heads up on what to expect. Nothing replaces actually being out there and experiencing it daily, but the info really helps. Right now, I am waiting on a orientation date to get started. Just as Blind Dog has posted I thought it would be good to pass on my training, etc...along way. As soon as I get a start date I will let y'all know. Keep on posting all the good info and be safe.

Blind Dog, kylefitzy and JimTheHut Thank this.

Thanks for the kind words Running Man. Best of luck to you in Little Rock. You can have a lot of fun at the Rock, if you'll allow yourself to.

I just heard back from my recruiter. They do not have a spot available for glass at this weekends orientation. He was thinking it would probably be at least 2-3 weeks before there would be a spot available. I was hoping to get to training sooner. I guess I have to wait patiently....

Yes. You'll need to wait as patiently as you can. If memory serves me, I waited a couple months for an opening.
Also, if they don't quit messing with my miles and my home time, there WILL BE another opening in the glass division!

Hey Blind Dog, Yes waiting patiently was what I was expecting. But I received a call from my recruiter earlier today and they had a spot become available for me for this Sunday's orientation. So I will be headed out on Saturday to head to the Rock. I also posted in the "Headed for Little Rock" thread. But moving forward since I am going to the glass division I am going to continue to post in this thread. I know several others have posted their training along the way but I thought I would also do the same. You never know how someone understands things one way or another so a different point of view or feedback might be helpful. I know it was for me reading through all these posts.

I hate to hear you miles are down and you might be looking at making a change. I hope that is not the case and they can get things squared away for you. Thanks again for posting your travels along the way and maybe one day we will have the opportunity to cross paths. Be safe.

    Blind Dog Thanks this.

We'll made it to the Rock yesterday afternoon. Did a couple of Walmart runs for a couple of forgotten items that where needed. Up this morning and getting ready for day 1 of orientation. Will pass on an update later this evening. Everyone have a blessed day.

Hey Blind Dog, just wanted to say your thread has been a great learning experience for myself as a student driver. I've been talking with Adam and Lauren? in the recruiting department for a local glass division opening with Maverick in the southeast. I'm in Knoxville by the way. Would you suggest going glass or flatbed? I see where you aren't getting many miles lately and I hear I might have to wait a month or longer for glass orientation. Thanks in advance.

Day 1 of orientation. Class went pretty well today. Got lots of paperwork, a little bit of map reading accomplished and more updates on our general information completed on the laptops. One thing to remember, and it has been mentioned before by other Maverick drivers here on these threads, DO NOT be late for anything. We had six guys that were 1-2 minutes late from our second break and they are still lucky to be around. Our instructor mentioned that a few years back there was zero tolerance for this and they would have been sent home today. But he mentioned a few things have changed and they were given their one chance for the tardiness. Being early is on time (you will also here that many times). It is very structured and much appreciated because it makes things go smoothly in what could be a chaotic environment. Several of us went to Walmart this evening to purchase some more food items. They supply lunch through orientation but you have to supply breakfast and dinner.

The biggest part of tomorrow will be for the physical and agility testing. We have to be at the training center at 6:30 (remember early is on time) ready to start. So going to finish up some map reading and get to bed early this evening. Be safe.
