Hey guy, thanks for the post. Yes, I'm still at Maverick. I'm still enjoying my job, and still proud to be here. However, I still struggle with the same 2 issues I've had for almost 1.5 years. The glass division is completely different from flatbed. This is considered "specialized" hauling. Basically, it means there are only so many places to load glass. Unlike flatbed or van where loads are everywhere, we BASICALLY load in glass plants. A lot of competition in glass. All in all, expect to be away from home in order to get decent miles. Good paychecks are crazy good. Bad checks, well.....
Don't hesitate to ask me anything.
P.S. stay FAR AWAY FROM TMC!!!! just my opinion.

Stay far away from TMC? Care to elaborate why, rather than make a baseless comment, give a reason.
Better yet, tell us when did you apply and why did they turn you down, or when did you work for them and why did they fire you?Last edited: Jul 13, 2014

Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge...he has his reasons. Just like other seasoned TMC drives that left. To much political ########

Blind Dog Thanks this. -
I judge anyone who can't give am honest reason for why he thinks the way he does. Don't make a comment and not give a reason why.simple as that. Politics suck, but for be its easy to deal with. I dealt with it in the navy, and I've dealt with it in my previous job.

If I recall, Blind Dog had a thread on the tmc site He told why he left.

ur right seadog he did say why he left but if u read all of his posts/comments on the tmc thread he started & if u have any kind of experience out here it will be clearly visible of why.

Hey Blind Dog,
Don't want to get too personal, but how good is crazy good and how bad is "well". I have applied with Maverick and been talking with Mike(recruiting) and Deanna (HR). -
I'm Baaaaack!!!!
I have a lot to pass on and catch up on over the past couple of months. First of all, the saying the "Grass is not always Greener on the other side" comes into play here for me. After I decided to leave Maverick back in June it was almost immediately apparent to me I made a mistake. But at this point the choice was made and I had to live with the consequences of my decision. After finding out the previous job that I was going to go back to did not turn out to be what was presented. Long story short it was a mistake on my behalf. When I was here back in June, Maverick was true to their word during the entire orientation process and the start of my securement training. After a couple of weeks went by I contacted my recruiter to see if I could come back. After many weeks of waiting to make sure this was something I really wanted to do (this was also suggested by my recruiter), and going through a series of events to try and make it happen, it did. I am back at Maverick and have started the orientation process over. I cannot say enough times how grateful I am to Maverick for allowing me this opportunity once again to become part of the family.
I feel truly blessed that I have been given this opportunity and I am determined to make the best of it (like it has been said many times here, if you get the opportunity to come to Maverick you need to make the most of it, not many drivers are given the opportunity to be invited to orientation so you need to give it your best effort and really show them you want to be here. A positive attitude goes a long way). I look forward to continue posts and will try and update on a regular basis. Also, I am once again training for the Glass Division.
Oh, by the way before I started the orientation process again I made sure and "removed head from butt" to try and help and make sure I do not make that mistake again. -
Welcome back, I hope everything works out for you this time. I should be at the terminal this weekend, maybe we can go grab a burger again of time allows.
Good luck -
Yes give me a holler when you get here would live to go to that great burger joint. One of the best burgers I ever had.
