I do my best to keep the ropes on the tarps. I will cut off any rope that is only good for 6" with 3 feet of frayed rope at the end.

I know that rope you talk about.
To me its real simple, do the right thing, EVEN when no one is watching. If you do this, iI can guarantee that you will NEVER have to look over your shoulder. -
Well I finally got off loaded in Carlisle, Pa. My next w/a picks up a load of plate steel out ta Claymont, De. Delivers Thursday in Seneca, SC. I feel sure they'll deadhead me home, up I26, into the mountains of western NC, for my badly needed home time. Been out 3 weeks. It actually doesn't feel that long. Getting my 34 reset at the hook in Carlisle was PAINFUL!! I swear, some people idle just to hear their truck make noise!
sewerman Thanks this. -
You CAN move your truck to a quieter spot Blind Dog. As long as you do not go more than like .7 miles and do not hit above 7th gear I believe. Your clock will not start logging on 3.Blind Dog Thanks this.

Sitting in a rest area in BEAUTIFUL NC. I85,mm59ish. It doesn't take long for parking to fill up in the Charlotte area. Both trucks beside me are running. I just LOVE the epu's on these trucks. When I drove my black and chrome Peterbilt, I had to idle too. Anyhow, got about 3 hours drive tomorrow. Easy peasy. I'll post more tomorrow. Be safe. Stay in the "right" lane.

Well, everything went as planned. I got off loaded, sent in my empty, and "poof" there's my deadhead message to go home. So home I went! Been real good being home. Very nice weather. Today, I intend to grill out. That's my all time favorite. Plus, what doesn't get eaten today gets devided between my wife and myself to eat on next week. I have to contact my FM tomorrow morning at 0800. I had asked for a good long load, like a border crossing in Canada. We shall see. Be safe guys. Keep in the "right" lane.

Well then. Time for another update. I called my FM at 0800, just like I was told. And I was told "no glass loads." That doesn't surprise me. So they sent me to Newberry,Sc to pickup 48,660 of fresh cut pine lumber. The consignee is BlueLinx in New Stanton, Pa. So today was an absolute MISERABLE day. Started first thing this morning. I had shut down for 10 at the Loves at the bottom of Fancy Gap, Via. So today, all my driving was mountain driving, and to keep my out of route low I'm taking 2 lane back roads. What a hard days drive. All through Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania up to Pittsburgh. So I arrive around 1600. I go inside to see if I can get off loaded. NOPE!! So here I sit, waiting, till 11:30 tomorrow to offload. After I sent my arrival macro, I get sent a preplan. Do you think glass out of Carlisle? NOPE! I gotta bounce up to Butler to pick up steel coils and deliver to Chicago.
Side note....if I wanted to haul flatbed freight, I would be in a flatbed division! I will just about bet money I will get hung out at the Gary terminal for the weekend. You CANNOT tell me there are NO glass loads. Really? Really.Kutina Thanks this. -
I've got a glass load to pick up in Carlisle in a couple hours. Going to head down there in a little bit.
I'd gladly trade with you if I could. This load is going up towards Boston. I have no problem with going to Chicago, I don't look forward to having to hit the Cross Bronx tomorrow some time. -
I'm out of hours, otherwise I'd trade with you.
On a separate note, sure enough, I'm sitting here all by my lonesome when....yup! Another truck comes in, parks RIGHT BESIDE me, and....wait for it.......you guessed it! He's violating Pennsylvania law and IDLING! So, I moved over to the other side of the big, vacant, gravel lot. Ya gotta love truck drivers.
PS....this is the same guy that loaded beside me, in SC, and yes he idled there too.Kutina Thanks this. -
