I feel like Pigpen from Charlie Brown. Leaving a cloud of dirt anywhere I go. Lol.

Anyway, I've been working for a small trucking company, hauling doubles. It's about 12 drivers. Belly dump and side dumps. I drive a 2000 Pete with over 1mil miles. 13spd manual. NOT A SINGLE CAMERA ON THE TRUCK! 150 air mile exemption. I joke around that I've been teleported to the 1990s. No logs, no cameras, and a manual truck.

I was working regional flatbed with a starter company. .52 a mile. It averaged out to around $20 an hour. Now I'm making $27 hr and OT after 40. It's super chill. If I need a day off I just text my boss and it's done.

It's flat paint. I call her Purple ##### because it's like dating a bi polar woman. Some days she fights me some days she doesn't.

How about when it rains, snows ? Do you still get paid ? Or are those the days you ask off ?

It's a bit like concrete work. Heavy rain or heavy snow we get called off. I live in Utah, I don't need to worry about I80 or going to Seattle in bad weather. I can get some unemployment if I work 2 days a week.

Unemployment doesn’t pay for the first week. After you file.
