That only applies to explosives where the most dangerous is placarded.

I looked up the rules, too lengthy to copy and couldn't find on the net to copy and past.....You placard the table 1 and because you have less then 1001 lbs of table 2 there is no need to placard.....the reg number is 175.505

I'm not citing anything in the book here but I believe you would still need dangerous if the sum of the two is over 1001 - not just the table 2. I've run into this junk a lot with the 5lb boxes of inhalation hazard and heavy bills of dangerous when wet. In the case of inhalation it's almost always the inhalation placard then the placard of the other hazmat because the table one is so light but with the dangerous when wet I need the dangerous as well with only a few pounds of something else.
I think off the top of my head that any table two that is over 2285lbs also requires it's own placard. I'll look that number up right now..
It's actually 2205lbs requires its own placard if it was loaded at one place which always applies to me. Who comes up with these numbers and regs in general.. My goodness..Last edited: Jan 27, 2013

Table 1 hazmat is considered differently then table 2. The rules says if you have more then 1 table 2 hazmat that comboned weighs over 1001 lbs then a dangerous placard is needed, if aggregate weight of 1 of the table 2 substances is over 2205 lbs then that must have it's own placard. Seeing the driver has 1 table 1 placard and 1 table 2 placard then this rule does not apply here.

Ok I see what you're saying now after I went back and read the first post. You are correct.

Also remember, the regs give the minimum requirements for placarding. If you are stumped and can't figure out what you need, there's no rule saying you can't just placard everything individually. It's a PITA, but it will save you a brutal penalty for being under-placarded (if that's a word).
fireba11 Thanks this. -
Guys.
I had some Hazmat questions on another thread on this board (see the link below) and was wondering if I could get some feedback on them.

You can show placards if you have 1 lb box on board if you're not sure. It's still legal.
The key is as long as what's on the side of the truck matches what's in it, you're fine.
