Are you sure you still have a CDL ? Have you kept your medical card updated ? Now states will revoke your CDL as soon as your medical card expires if you haven't renewed it and notified them .
Have CDL for 20 years but no experience.

My license has said class A for the last 20 years so i'm pretty sure I still have it. I dropped hazmat but have the other endorsements too. Do you need a medical card to drive a class A motor home? I thought you only needed it to drive commercial vehicles. I just bought a new "little green book" a few days ago so I will have to look that one up. I have also recently got a copy of my driver abstract just to make sure it was really clean and that says class A too. New Jersey must not pull it. They don't even ask for it at renewal time. Haven't had a medical card in 15 years.

It is now required to show a current medical card when renewing a CDL. . The DMV knows the expiration date of the medical card and will send a notice of supension if they don't receive a copy of a renewed card .

Hey RickG, If you read into that a bit it does sound like you could have a class A license without a medical card. It says drivers that engage in certain kinds of commerce need one. So to me that sounds like if you are driving as a job you need one. But I really dont think you need one for class A motorhomes. It could be argued that my endorsements, tanker, doubles-tripples would make it so I would have to have one. Because there arent many tanker motorhomes out there!! It also says between 2012 up to 2014 so I guess i'm lucky that NJ is a bit behind. I renew again in 2013 and plan on having a medical card way before then. I am planning on getting hazmat put back on soon so your info may have saved me from a big headache. I'll make sure I have a med card before I start messing with that. Thanks

i've had class A all my life.
but your license isn't COMMERCIAL. and defentily not so without that medical card. no med card, no commercial
like rick said. you let your med card expire so goes your commercial. been that way 2 years now. can't have the commercial without the med card anymore
you now have the luxuroy of visiting the DMV every two years now. companies say they'll do it for you. but i wouldn't put my license in the hands of my company. i take it down PERSONALLY.
