1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I have my CDL & a current physical but out of truck for over six mo & have been driving a bus. I was offered a job that I will need to take a driving test to get and need to practice to pass it. Willing to pay an OO $20/hr to work with me for a few hrs or a few days in /around Albuquerque, NM.

You can look for a third party trucking school, they charge like $150 - $200 bucks.Check with your local driver's licence center they may have some info on companies that offer that kind of service.

    Welcome to TTR forum.

Sometimes you can find owners who rent equipment near where the state tests are given for use in the tests. Not to be negative, but $20 an hour isn't going to cut it. If you start figuring you will quickly see why.

Let's say hourly $20-30 for the driver/instructor, $25-40 for fuel, $75 for truck and $25 for trailer. If you figure the hours of operation, average speed and CPM most trucks make about $100 per hour. Just driver wages and fuel will run $50-60 per hour.

Since you have your CDL and physical you might try renting a truck at a local equipment rental place. They will probably want a deposit or a credit card for security. I understand schools seem quite high but when you put it in perspective they are competitive in their pricing.
