Ok guys I got hung out this weekend curently I am sitting at hoods truck stop on I44 in missouri.I was ok with that and maverick pays me a guarentee 800 miles when I get left out.I like the independent truck stops over the corporate truck stops I stopped at the pilots ,petros, flyingJ,and loves and I can honestly say I dont like them.

There is a real resteraunt here so I will get a hot meal all weekend. I am only 10 miles from my monday morning appointment.

Driving this governed rig is big pain and it takes a lot out of me .You cant just jump out and pass anyone except the poor roadway drivers who must be governed at 60.Some guys will relent and let you pass them but most will make you have the turtle race with them.I wont do that I usualy just park for a few minutes and put space between us.The one thing that will drive me away from maverick is driving this governed truck .

In case you would like to imagine what that is like next time you are on the freeway drive 5 miles an hour slower then everyone else and should you happen to be luck or unlucky enough to pass some one jump out in the hammer lane but dont hit that accelerator it wont be there in that governed truck you cant stomp that pedal to the floor trust me I have and there is nothing there and if you can do that without leaning foward you are a better driver then me.There are times when I have to get in the hammer lane and it always make me feel bad for the poor people stuck behind me so I try to jump back as fast as I can.

The weather is nice here so I am hoping it stays that way but the weather man is calling for freezing rain on monday what do they know I have learned not to worry about thing til I get there.I have parked facing the entrance to this truck stop so I will get a light show all night long if it gets to bad I will move back a row tommorow. You realy have to think foward even when you do small things like park the truck another lesson learned. Now if I could just figure out a way to not have these reefer drivers park next to me.Will post more later

Just drive in to any of them except NLR. When you go in the bay they will hold up 1 or 2 fingers. Flash them 2 meaning truck and trailer. Then go inside and there will be a little note pad. Write down your name, co name, trk and trl number and give it to the person behind the counter. They will punch it up in the PC. If they can't find the right mav tell them LLC in NLR. You just sign a ticket. You can do this every 14 days. I pay out of pocket for the wax. $3.00, but it makes it look a lot better and beads water longer. I will just go to the yard. I like a fenced in area and don't have to worry about swifty backing into me.:biggrin_2559: Our yard is an hour away from wheatley tube anyway.

When I was driving for Werner, I was stuck in a truck whose top speed was governed at 59 1/2 mph. I hated it. Before that, I was driving trucks without governors at all and going as fast as I wanted to. It was torture sitting on the interstates and such going that slow, EVERYONE was passing me!

possibly find a way to change what the truck is governed to run? Anybody know how they are governed or if the company would find out if you changed it? Just curious.
    I know not what I ask. :biggrin_25524:
