Hey Daytona:
Not to bum you out even more, but did you know that the on-the-job injury will cost you another 3 safety points?
I was able to get my points removed because I could prove the injury was the result of one of their faulty trailers. I hope you can find a way to do the same.
Have to start somewhere

So you are telling me that since I got hurt I will get fiired cause I am allready on probation talk about heartless. All I did was make them repower one load. This is no worse then If I got the flu. That is insane. I once heard someone say that getting fired is gods way of saying you should be doing something else and living in that truck 24/7 aint a deal worth fighting for.

Is driving still what you had expected? you have been through a lot FAST!
How is the pay treating you?
I hope your knee gets better soon.
A maverick truck passed me on interstate 65 near Louisville kentucky last week with a dent in the box behind the cab, made me think of your story, wasn't you was it? -
Hang in there Daytona.... don't get too excited yet. If they fire you for an
on-the-job injury I would think you would have a good basis for a law suit. Don't freak out just yet, this probably wont cost you your job... Its an occupational hazard especially with you flat bed guys. I don't even climb into my trailer to put load locks in more than once every two weeks or so. -
If they were, the first call would be to an attorney. The second would be to the state department of labor.
They have to consider the events leading up to the injury. Ice and snow cannot be prevented. Therefore, unless they are willing to have paid to have the truck deiced, the fault is not his. -
Sorry to hear about the injury. Glad it wasn't too serious. Enjoy the time home, aggravating Vickie. I bet she will like it, as will you. Just chill a few days.
Thank you about the information about your laptop. I appreciate it. -
So I called in at 8 am when my fleet manager comes in.I explain to him that this is no big deal and I will be back to work Thursday. He tells me he has to transfer me to the Workman's comp people.I tell him I am fine and don't want to make a big deal out of this, anyway so he does I explain to them what happened. She tells me safety will be calling me and I will have to be cleared by their doctor before I can come back to work and so here I sit just resting and getting better I hope.

Any of you flat bedders out there...
Have any of you hauled any of that big long water pipe from Denver to Kansas City area (Bonner Springs area)?
There has been a slew of it come in the last month, and seems everybody has a piece of the action. -
So they released me to go back to work today but I cant drive till I take some class that Maverick only gives on Monday.I ran into one of the other fellows from my class there he fell off his truck and fractured some ribs so I guess I have been luckier then him.
So it is light duty in the yard till then.I have been getting calls from workman comp people so that has been kind of a pain in the butt.Guess that is about it will keep you posted.Johnso I have been doing up and down on pay but I am doing O.K.Rocknsand I am in Mavericks U.S. division we don't get out past Kansas much that is kind of out of our lanes. To K&j marinedriver,Roadmedic,Jimf and everyone else Yall be safe talk to you later
