Your point taken, I believe your $100 is safe. Seems as though they do not have the authority to enforce this on out of state trucks and we have yet to see any proof of one of these tickets being issued. ......for members talking about getting "no idling" tickets, not talking about those here - talking about tickets for entering the state of CA in a truck registered outside of CA with a motor so old it does not meet the emmissions regulations CARB enforces on CA registered trucks..... Everyone from out of state just assumes they can't go there with an older truck.
Have YOU been cited for a CARB violation?

Airborne Thanks this. -
From a friend of mine who is a Cali dot officer that works at a scale. He has told me carb cops have no authority to even stop you, by law you do not even need to stop for them. Truckers do because they think they have to but again they have no authority to stop you according to him and he should no.

**FACE PALM** !
AGAIN I SAY !!!!! I am NOT talking about, idling, or PSIP violations, or reefers, or oil leaks, etc... I am talking about driving down the road and someone looking at when your engine was made (THE ENGINE IN THE TRUCK, not your TRU or APU) , then giving you a ticket for the age of the engine IN THE TRUCK!!!!
DO YOU GUYS GET THE QUESTION??? I dont know how else to phrase it! -
I am really frustrated by this. I am asking a simple question. Does anyone else see that everyone seems to be answering me with examples of things that are irrelevant to my question?
Why are you all so worried about having to buy new TRUCKS ( not trailers ) when you only have examples of CARB ticketing for TRU, APU or idling? Why do you all worry about CARB when NONE of you have been cited due to the age of the ENGINE IN YOUR TRUCK?
I guess Im asking the question the wrong way, I just cant figure out how else to ask it.
If anyone understands the question I am trying to ask but knows a better way to ask it, please help. -
You know the right thing
