Happened to me in upstate NY. No crowd watching. Just a guy driving the forklift enjoying a smoke watching the big dummy try to back straight. I still laugh about that to this very day.

Customer wanted a 48’ flat. Broker lines us up and we have a 53’ step. Steep slope on the dock high ramp so i had to figure out something or they cancel the load. Very tight area. I was rubrail to rubrail between the poles. F8CAFC59-9A78-4D0B-896E-8715B4EB06B5.jpeg 573F4559-A317-455C-BACF-465CDB77F852.png

Got several spots that are very difficult to get into, but none I have ever failed to get to the door. I had several that had me working up a sweat just to get on the door. The RentACenter in North Augusta left me about an inch of space between my truck, the retaining wall and the building but I made it through unscathed. I blindside a lot nowadays.

Tomorrow I have to back down a residential road and down a driveway, trying not to fall off in the ditch. Once I get straight, I have to blindside into the dock and miss the garbage dumpster on the other dock door. I reminded my dispatcher to not put the load on a skirted trailer because you will break it backing downhill. All in a day’s work.

Pulling these tanks, I have had to pull into some places nose in that would rival anything most people have ever had to do backing. Especially going to do spread jobs. You’re definitely not staying on the pavement. A few weeks ago we had to make this super tight uturn down into a narrow ravine like area that TXDOT had dug out. I ripped the airlines up making the turn. Another guy rolled his truck and tank when his steer slid off the side. Cement everywhere.

Let's say I am a apostle of the great Church of MACK and the disciple of the Cross Rib traction tires. People have had me into and out of places here in the Ozarks with that ready mix causing me to take a few sips of schnapps on that silver flask in my pocket for courage before trying it.

I got away with it. THANK GOD. Sometimes the rain showed up and sunk me at the job need a tow out. UGH. And a couple times I actually managed to break the truck. AND they did not fire me for it. Oh no Sir...
