This is like those personality tests you take when applying for a job. The only correct answer is the obvious one. The person hiring you knows the test is baloney. The real test is if you understand the test. The guy that blurts out he has a library card and writes haikus on his days off isn't familiar with the industry expectations. He is gonna sing like a canary and blow the big sale when things get a little hairy.

If you still really wanna drive combos, don't quit'm if you get canned.

If the cops did a report on the first one, get a copy (and make a bunch of copies) to show potential employers if they ask about it. From the perspective of a future employer, it may lower Werner's credibility a bit and reduce your record to two very minor preventables.

Your confidence is shaken. You thought that you should have been able to master trucking, right? It's not trucking, it's you. You're a good guy, a likable fellow, better than average. So what went wrong? And do you want help or do you want a pity party?

Bad news, Hoss...I don't do pity parties. When you get knocked down, I'm not the one that's going to join you on the floor for a good cry. Sorry, but that's against my religion. I'm one of those people who gonna keep yelling at you to GET UP. How bad do you want it? Round Two:Time to Rumble.

2 flaws. 1.) overconfidence 2.) you don't pay attention. You walked in with your guard down thinking you got this and you got it all right. Are you paying attention now? The goal isn't to get a job, the goal is to be good at what you do. Do you understand? The snow and icy roads and fences and poles and whatnot is irrelevant.

My world is filled with big loads, tight roads and short days. It's a game of inches. You HAVE TO know your truck. You have HAVE TO pay attention. Easy on the equipment. A rookie came into the flatbed forum and asked about going to flatbed. Found out he posted a video on YouTube of where he was trying to climb a steep hill, didn't downshift and stalled the motor, tried to get her moving again by revving the motor and dumping the clutch. Yeah, in a forum full of heavyhaulers. You don't beat on a truck around a heavyhauler. Any truck. Well, the rookie said that he was never taught how to climb steep grades. I understand that. So I asked him if he wanted to learn proper procedure.

Your goof isn't as critical as his. You bent a rim. You only need to make a slight adjustment on your judgement. It's not your technique...it's your judgement, "Can I make this turn? Will it fit?" type stuff. You're not a student anymore. You shouldn't be hitting curbs.

Don't be so quick to throw in the towel. Screw Werner. It's you that I would like to see successful.

"But Six, they're going to fire me."

They may be doing you a favor. You will be hungry and mean and more focused. Had one of our guys that started with CREngland. Rolled a truck and got canned. Took a job with a small flatbed fleet that living at the very bottom of the barrel, tried to throw a pity party and everyone yelled at him to get up and quit whimpering like an overgrown infant. It's not what he wants to do, BUT he really had to suck it up and learn his trade being around so many A Game drivers. He's light years better driver. Solid driver. I like to see a driver get off the floor to become a winner.

Now it's your turn. Show me that you can be good at what you do.

The reason why I posted the video is to show you how smooth these guys are on the controls. That first truck pulling the track section. That track probably weighs 85000lbs by itself. 8 axle rig. Even though it isn't wide, that is a difficult trailer to maneuver, especially in a metro area.they have to learn to be easy on the equipment. Your average bottomfeeder truck is 430-455 hp and a 9-10 speed. The average heavyhauler is 550-625 hp with an 18. Loading up the clutch and dumping it instantly grenades the drivetrain. Notice too, how easy on the throttle? No jerkiness, no chassis twisting. Take care of the equipment is rule number one.

Because no one at Werner knows about this forum and is able to read.

Isn't that like "exaggerating" or something similar to exaggerating, like "falsifying" the truth?

Hopefully you don't get fired.in the future if you have a mishap and not bad,pay out of your own pocket to get it fixed. No matter how minor it is companies make a huge deal out of everything and you're on their ten most wanted list so to speak.
