Your 21 do you have a CDL? Do you have any farm or local trucking experience?

Get out and drive around go and talk to the local grain hauling outfits and see if they are hiring. If you want to own your own company one day well you need to start off at the bottom and get the experience and work your way up if you are serious about it. If they won't put you on as a driver maybe they need a shop hand or someone to load trailers at the local mill etc..... Maybe they will train you to drive, don't take no for an answer and be professional.

A started out driving at 18 on a custom cutting outfit that had semis then went to work for a local grain hauler but when I went to work for a OTR flatbed company they didn't recognize my local grain or harvesting experience so I had to run team for a month to prove to them I could do the job. Sometimes you have to do whatever it takes if your serious about doing it. At age 23 I bought my first truck, I put $2500 down on a $12,500 cabover and the rest is history.

I will try to answer some of your questions.

I don't no any large hay outfits. Do a goggle search for Hay Dealers and their are a lot of them. The biggest hopper bottom outfit is probably Foltz Trucking in Detroit Lakes, MN they run 120 trucks their might be someone larger I don't know.

Best hoppers are probably Timpte or Wilson they seem to be the most popular ones.

Flat trailers their are so many. Hauling hay you are looking at a steel or combo trailer that is 53' from what I see. I have no clue about the hay business.

Any truck can haul grain and hay it just depends on what type of operation you are going to do. Are you going to be home at night or run long distances.

    Hope this helps you.
