Hazmat background check on misdemeanors

Wouldn't that be a deferred judgment pending your successful completion of probation?
I would imagine you are currently on probation, so the probation itself has not been deferred.

It would be very hard to go OTR if you are on probation because you couldn't be sure to make your appointments.
Also, if you are on probation you normally can't leave the state.

If all that is the case, you are much better off putting off getting a CDL until you are off probation.

Terrorists use whatever means they might need, like getting commercial pilot licenses and real jobs - just to fly jets into buildings.
Or maybe a CDL to do something similar.
A truck loaded with the right thing could cause nearly as much damage to a building - or people.

How about just plain simple crime?
Spend 5 grand to get a CDL, a few months for training and driving with a mega, then a couple buddies to relieve that trailer of a few millions worth of electronics from that choice load they trusted you with.
After all, we stop when and where we want. And 10 or 12 hours sitting in the same place is normal activity.
Do that a couple times, between a few buddies, and you would all be on easy street.

A truck driving job is no longer bottom of the barrel.
It is now the cream of the crop, because you have to be that good to get in.


Yes, I know - I'm over the top.(Well, to some degree.)
But the dangers and opportunities in hauling 80k or millions of $ in goods remain.
And nearly EVERYTHING is hauled by a big truck, at some point.


And you think it is out of control, as they are trying to get everything more in control with all of that?

I had another driver argue with me on the CB the other day about what century this is ...because the years now begin with 20 so it must be the twentieth century.

 

I don't want to turn this thread into a dump on truckers subject, but I think it would shock most people just how many drivers are functional illiterates! I used to give log classes several years ago. Most can sign their name, and can spell the home terminal city name that is about it. The CDL law in 1993 (I think) filtered some of these people out. They could not read the questions on the test. Some had help with the test and somehow got their CDL's.

 

I was arrested in 2019 for filing a false police report. How far back does TSA check? Hopefully I can get my hazmat
