I need to get a hazmat endorsement and I am a little concerned about the background check. I can't seem to find a list of disqualifying offenses. I did find a list of disqualifying offenses for a TWIC card and I would be ok to get one of those. But I don't know what would be a disqualifying offense for Hazmat.
Does anybody know where to locate that list for Hazmat?

Just got my twic five months ago a they were strict. I bet that's harder to get than hazmat. I think your fine. Wish you the best of luck
-
I suppose I could get a twic first but I don't think I will need it and they cost $130. But if that background check was already done they probably wouldn't need to do it again for Hazmat.

FAQ's answer many questions including integration with TWIC.

They are the same as TWIC.

Thanks condocruiser;
That page is similar to the twic faq. The info I was looking at was this...
Part B Interim Disqualifying OffensesWhat if a conviction is "exonerated?"
Conviction for one of the following felonies is disqualifying if the applicant was convicted, pled guilty (including 'no contest'), or found not guilty by reason of insanity within 7 years of the date of the TWIC application; OR if the applicant was released from prison after conviction within 5 years of the date of the application. The applicant may apply for a waiver.

- Extortion.

- Bribery.
- Smuggling.
- Immigration violations.
- Distribution of, possession with intent to distribute, or
importation of a controlled substance. - Arson.
- Kidnapping or hostage taking.
- Rape or aggravated sexual abuse.
- Assault with intent to kill.
- Robbery.
- Fraudulent entry into a seaport as described in 18 U.S.C.
1036, or a comparable State law. - Violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt

- If a conviction is expunged or pardoned, the criminal records may reveal this. If they do not, TSA sends the applicant a Preliminary Determination of Ineligibility letter explaining what the records show and how the applicant can correct inaccurate records.
- Applicants are encouraged to reapply if their initial disqualifying offense is no longer applicable. Applicants will need to understand the nature of the initial disqualification and the corresponding look-back periods of 5 or 7 years if applicable. Reapplying can occur as long as there are no secondary disqualifying events.
So it looks like you are ok if your offense is older than 7 years. At least for the twic. So I guess it would be ok for the hazmat too. -
generally, if you can go to WALMART and fill out the form to buy a shotgun and pass, you should be good to go. it is pretty much the same background check.
-
Just as long as you didn't smuggle a Mexican across the border and hold her against her will, then rape her, stole her jewelry, offer her $20 not to tell and then tried to kill her by setting her on fire, you should be okay!
-
I'll consider that the voice of experience and learn from your mistakes. -
You missed the joke. That about covers all them violations. Don't take it so personal.
-
Completely UNTRUE. Someone can have a twic and hazmat and by federal law be prohibited from buying a gun.
