In Michigan it's done on a touch screen, you can skip the answers you don't know. don't try guessing once you hit the number of correct answers needed to pass the the test shuts down. tells you passed. you still gotta study.

Is there a wait period before you can test for the HAZMAT or can you pay and take the test and wait to see if you qualify to get it?

In NJ you have to wait 10 days after you get your permit to test.

Here you have to make an appointment with a DMV rep, get interviewed, then fill out an application, then get fingerprinted, and then a background check is conducted. All this info is sent to the TSA and if they approve of you, then you take the written test for the endorsement. Could take 1-2 months.

Ok, one more question about the HAZMAT endorsement process. Is it worth getting this on your own, or starting the process anyway, BEFORE you are hired?? Does it make you more marketable, as if adding to a resume'?

Just take the practice test which this site has over and over til you get 100% consistently and you'll pass. Yes get the Hazmat before you apply, some places need a driver ASAP.

    MountainWind Thanks this.

That is what I was thinking or hoping! Already having it or at least already in the somewhat lengthy TSA process seems like some companies would be a little more interested.
