Yea my next step was to look at VA hazmat info on their DMV site. I was reading NY DMV earlier. Thanks for bringing it up. Looks like all I would have to do is re take the test.

    Thanks.

You can probably take the knowledge test first. You'll have to undergo the background and fingerprint check anyway.

I just went thru this going from Calif to Texas, had to take the test at DMV and pay again for Background check, although they did give me my texas CDL with the HazMat endorsment right away but it had only 90 days before it expired so you have to get everything done ASAP!

I can't see how anyone can enjoy the OTR, gone for 3-4 weeks at a time for years and years on end. Regional is ok......home on the weekends or every 5-6 days. But Working 6 days a week...with a 34 hour break at a truck stop....for basically the same pay? Even its a few hundred dollars more a week.....its not worth it in my eyes. Its something I can do short term. Like a deployment, but to do it for 5 years straight....can't see myself doing it.
