probly because you dont have your actuual license yet, but thats just a guess -

 

Have you gone through the background checks through the feds?
HAZMAT Endorsement

 

Have you done the TSA background check?

 

You are not permitted to transport haz-mat until after you have passed your skills and road test. Nothing unusual about the permit, nothing wrong with it.

 

A hazmat endorsement cannot be issued on a commercial learners permit. Once you are issued your CDL the endorsement will be issued.

 

Oh no sir. This is your basic permit. You can play in the sand box with the tonka toys with the other kids for now. Once you get a full blooded CDL with a honest by gawd Hazmat Endorsement and the appropriate training you will do well with the big boys.

Remember Hazmat has become a situation where you will be interviewed and so on to assess you as a potential threat to the Nation. There are too many terrorists who would love to ram 40 tons of propane up the hill into the Capital. (*Like that will happen...ha..) but you get the idea.

You’ll see something similar with the tanker end. It will say empty only.
