And do not forget about Canadian HOS. IF you run US HOS you will be fine. But watch this one.

What he is referring to here isn't about hands free rules, it's about costs.

So call your provider and make sure you know how much, if any, minutes you are allowed to use while in Canada, as well as your data limits.

And when I say call your provider I don't mean check it out online. CALL them. I called to add a $5 package one time that would allow me some limited data and calling while in Canada only to find out I couldn't get that package without losing my international features (calling while in other countries). Then they kindly told me about another feature they could add that would give me unlimited calling and text, and 1GB of 4G data while I was in Canada, for the low cost of $0. Yes, the limited crappy feature I was going to add was $5, but this one was $0. So I'll say it again, CALL THEM, do not rely on the website.

i hauled a fuel tanker into canada from MN for a year, all i ever needed was a BOL (to calculate dues) and a passport. it was in 2016 aswell. took me less than 5 minutes from exiting the cab to go into the office to pulling away.
