Yes, in Cincinnati there is one sign well away from the inner city, but if you miss that one the second sign is so close to the tunnel that when you exit you'll find yourself smack dab in the middle of stop and go inner city. Do your homework here people.

Read the ERG and other books. Pretty dang informative. As you've read here, route planning is important. You can also do it the old fashioned way - just call any state where you have a question. They're usually helpful. I drive for Conway Truckload, OTR work but I don't see a lot of Hazmat loads in my future. Just isn't worth it for $.05/mile. Like, who needs more problems parking?

I pulled an HC load into Cleveland up the 71 (I think) Sunday. One HC route sign about 10 miles south of the city. I missed it and turned around and got on the 265? Loop freeway anyway, drove to Painesville about 25 miles NE, then back into Cleveland after unloading Monday AM, headed for Cinci, left with a normal turnaround load about noon. Never saw another HC sign. One thing about it, you have to be more focused and pay attention at a stronger level with HC loads. Eyes forward and moving. No phone in town. I had worse problem in Dallas, I think it was, made a rather ugly turn-around in a neighborhood downtown, got out with no damage. The police take HazMat seriously. I do too, I've pulled some mean stuff, but the learning curve was brisk. Luck - there's 2 kinds.
