Believe me, big Hazmat no no's happen here but I can say procedures have been put in place to avoid them. All hub operations have a designated area to dock Hazmat that does not have a load door or cannot be loaded yet (inhalation hazard must be on the back) that keeps it away from forklift traffic. I believe this policy was the result of an incident I witnessed - a box of inhalation hazard 2 being crushed and spilled on the dock.

Hey, things happen but a policy was put in place to minimize the danger - unlike federal and state Hazmat regs

Same thing at FedEx, Con-way, and UPSF - make common sense safety up to you and not them - you'll be fine.

My truck blew a turbo and I was told to drive something with no drive tires - I politely said no and my reasoning that was questioned but confirmed after I insisted some come look at the tires before I headed out in a snow storm.

I'm surprised no serious truckers have disputed my claims of Hazmat regs being a farce with facts yet. Other than the typical big trucker stories, nobody has been able to use facts stating current Hazmat regs are getting it done.

I'm not surprised because they are a joke and have nothing to do with communicating the risk, containing the product, and minimizing the danger. They have everything to do with typical government that has completely lost touch with reality. Any trucker - mind you, I'm just a guy that drives a truck, that really thinks current Hazmat regs are applicable to real world situations has lost his/her mind.

Anyone care to engage me in a debate?? I only have two super trucker stories so all I have left is facts..lol..

Well now Mr Expert, How about you educate us Super Truckers on what the rules should be. I mean with your accrued wisdom over 6 years you can revoloutionize the whole industry right here and now.

No, I'm not going to "debate" you.... there's no point. I've met your like before. The fact that the current Hazmat system is the product of years of international expertise is totally irrelavent to you. Nope, your opinion trumps all that.

So give forth oh Guru. We await elucidation with bated breath.

Remember that when you take thehazmat background test it changes you experation date of you CDL! NO Kidding! over 30 years my DL/CDL expired on my B Day and now it's in august! Take it as close to your dirthday as you can!

As to the regular test. When you study the book there are several "short test questions" sections in the chapter. If you know all of those ou should have no problem passing the written test. One tip is don't OVERSTUDY the test as you then start to second guess the questions.!
