I agree. The worst of all at Cov. is the 6 month mandatory teaming. That really, REALLY SUCKS!

Although I agree about team driving sucks, bear in mind that I went to a CDL school that really didn't offer a huge amount of training. 3 1/2 weeks and 1 week of that was studying for the CDL Learner's Permit. So, 2 1/2 weeks and only 5 shifting classes. All the rest were on automatics. I would hope the mandatory teaming would help me learn more. Who knows?

No, it will not help you to learn more. You may team with another newbie just like you or even worse... :biggrin_25523: and you will have to "teach" them how to do it... It's like dumb and dumber... Or if you can team with someone more experienced than you they may try to boss you around... :biggrin_25510: My first team partner couldn't follow directions, couldn't back the trlr, would get lost all the time and stuck in places and parking lots.... I couldn't sleep... had to baby sit her 24 hrs a day :biggrin_25510: After 2 and half weeks I asked to go back to Chatt and got another partner. Second one had more experience and it was "her" truck. She wanted me to falsify my log and drive for both of us while she chatted all day on the phone... :biggrin_25510: After 2 and half weeks, I stepped out of "her" truck in Pomona, Ca and had to wait one week to get ride back to Chatt to get another partner. Anyway, I had a total of 7 partners in 6 months. One guy said he had 20 years experience and got very upset with my inexperience and delay doing my backings, etc. Made me soooo nervous.... Threatened to kick me out of "his" truck in the middle of Arizona desert. Another one got so mad with dispatcher, she left company and I got stranded in Calif with truck and not being able to drive for a while cause I wasn't allowed to drive solo. Another guy was alcoholic and tried to seduce me in the truck (I am female) and he wanted to take 34 hrs break after every long haul and go to bars... :biggrin_25510: Another one was a crazy Cuban (very good driver and very good backer) but got mad with company and quit, got rented vehicle, put his refrigerator inside it and took off.... Last one was Mexican very good driver but couldn't read, write or understand English.... :biggrin_25510:

I learned more once I started driving solo, in Nov, beginning of winter, than any other time.

    Good luck to you.

Wonderful. I was hoping to hear some good new, but I guess not. Well, December 6th is the earliest I can go, so maybe I can find something better. Fingers crossed.

Let us know how it went. If you can read this before your test. Just relax, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, you can do it. There will be other candidates in the truck with you and they will make some mistakes, grind some gears... we all get nervous.... But the examiner understands all that and will overlook it all. Just remember to slow down before curves, don't run a red light, don't climb or rub the curbs, don't have an accident, pay attention to what the examiner says and follow his/her instructions. You will drive for maybe 30 minutes or so. All the best. :biggrin_25519:

No. I have his number, called him over a month ago. He was still teaming at Cov. He never calls though. Maybe very busy. Hope he is doing well and running good.
