Indeed we do. They like us here because, i'm not going to lie, they are strict. I guess I like it that much more because of that though. I will say its not as strict as all the guys out there that have never worked here say when they call it Truckers Marine Corp. Believe me, the Marine Corp was much more strict LOL they cant put there hands on you here like back in there.

Kinda funny I use to work at Prime before I went into the Marine Corp.

Mils- i never served but i do like the strictness of tmc. It keeps down on the rift-raft, bad attitude drivers, even though i know we have some.

Cool- i had no prob with the singles on my drives. Only spun once. Got stopped at a light empty going uphill in a blizzard, luckily had a state plow truck block traffic behind me ao i could rock it. I like the duels on my daycab, but have owen corning trailer (im special, well just dedicated) with singles, not a huge fan of them for cornering/backing when heavy.

To all you guys who are thinking of going to work at TMC, I will let ya know a couple things. I worked there for almost 17 years. If you live well within the hiring area, you can do really good there, and make pretty good money. I live in South Dakota, and did the entire time I worked there. It worked pretty good for years. But as freight lanes changed, and the company grew it got harder and harder to get home. If I ever get my wife to move out of SD I will definately look to go back to TMC. That's one thing. As for the other, if you think you aren't doing as well as you should be, by all means, talk to someone about getting a new fleet manager. I know it should not matter, but changing fleet managers can and will make a world of difference there for some reason. Do not get mad and quit till you try a different FM. All in all I really miss TMC. They are great to work for. I would never have been there for so long if they wheren't. MrEd

The second week goes well. Yard/simulator and road training. Half they day on the road, hald in the yard with about an hour of that on the simulators. The yard is mainly backing, so get out and look. If one 45 back takes a half hour cause you goal 10 times, thats fine. If you dont goal and hit cones, eeehhhh, not so good. The sims give different situations as far as hazards. The other half the day is road training. Monday, drive country roads, learn the shifting and handling of the truck. Tuesday, some country roads and some town driving. Wendsday, get ready. Downtown Des Moines. Tight turns, low bridges, traffic. If you live in the northeast, pay attention today. Thursday, last day, overall refinement. Little bit of everynthing. Friday, clean the trucks then go home to your trainer.

Hey Thanks DirtyJerz for the update on Week 2. Do you like it do far? Do you get your 4 to 5 loads each week? One more question. The recruiter called me for my physical long form and employment info (had to send last 5 yrs w/2) Do they send Pre offers? And what is usually the next step to hear from them? Thanks for your help!

Update: Got the Pre Auth call today.

I like them. My time on line haul i did 3-5 loads a week. Some where two day, some times del/load times got screwy. I did about three months of linehaul and now im on the owens corning dedicated account. I do 5-12 loads a week, none more than 225 miles, some as short as 5. As far as the long form your school will take care of that. I didnt have to show w2s, might have changed. Just keep calling to show you are really intrested in them as they get alot of apps.
